About our home

Built in the 1840s in Regency/early Victoria style it was renovated in 2002. Like the classic London house there are lots of stairs (4 levels). Lots of entertaining space--dining, study and large living room. Easy access to Heathrow with the trains, it is 15 minutes from our door to Oxford Circus. Relatively quiet neighborhood with shops close by.

Buzzy restaurants
Pearl Liang one of the best Chinese restaurants for dim sum is 2 minutes. Our favorite is to spring for the value weekday lunch at Alan Ducasse at the Dorchester Hotel--***Michelin
Cool bars
In 20 minutes you're in cool Notting Hill but we suggest a taxi home if you been in the bars. Or spend a summer evening at the Waterway on the canal.
Cozy cafés
Relax with a coffee in Cafe Laville sitting on top the Regents Canal.
Retail therapy
15 minutes Oxford Street, Bond Street or Westfield (largest mall in Europe with luxury malls); 3 minutes to antiques & retro of Church Street
Bit of culture
The real Liza Doolittle lived moments (but more than a century) away.
Walks in the park
Walk along canal or take canal boat through Regents Park to Camden town
Spot of exercise
Rent a Boris bike (named after our Mayor) from just about anywhere in town
Day tripping
Historic Bath is 1 1/2 hours by train; Oxford even less

We're 2 guys who would probably travel with married friends. The North Carolina house is shared with friends living in the Chicago area. You might get some or all of us.
