About our home

Our home is situated in the conservation area of Lower Blunsdon, Wiltshire, and close to the market towns of Highworth, Cricklade, Cirencester and Royal Wootton Bassett. The house was built in 2010 to our own design, and incorporates solar energy generation and geothermal heating.
There are beautiful views in all directions!
It's a quiet location with country lanes to the front and back, yet it's only a few minutes to main roads taking you in any direction you want. You can be in Oxford or Bath or Cheltenham or Bristol in less than one hour, London in about 90 minutes. Or Swindon railway station is 20 minutes away. London Heathrow airport is just over an hour. Stratford on Avon is also just over an hour way.
There are dozens of great country pubs within a few minutes drive (and a couple in walking distance!). And most of these serve good food, everything from simple 'pub grub' to serious restaurant food. We can tell you about our favourites.
Our nearest larger village is Highworth, about 3 miles away. Here you will find an 18 hole golf course (where we play), local shops, restaurants and pubs. About 3 miles in the other direction, there is a commercial centre with a hypermarket, a branch of Marks and Spencer's and several other stores.
