About our home

We have a modern 3 bedroom flat in The Harrods Furniture Depository buildings flank the South bank of the River Thames near Hammersmith Bridge in London, SW13. The Harrods Depository was commissioned in 1894 as a storage centre for the larger items that could not be taken into Knightsbridge to the world famous Harrods department store. The buildings are no longer used by Harrods but retain many of its original external features. In 2000 the conversion to a residential estate was completed (Harrods Village). William Hunt Mansions, the main river front building is a key marker post on the annual Oxford to Cambridge boat race between Putney Bridge and Chiswick Bridge.

Barnes is a great place to visit and a wonderful place to live. It only takes 30 minutes to get from Barnes to central London, but it feels as though it's a leafy country village. It has good transport links, great shops and restaurants, and offers many community activities. Life in Barnes has a friendly relaxed feel, and a walk by the Thames, or a trip to feed the ducks on the village pond on a sunny day, makes any Barnes resident thankful to be living in such a beautiful village. It's a vibrant community and there is always lots going on.
