About our home

This house is a second house for us, used by my parents for part of the year and vacant quite often. It is part of 1805 Georgian country house, set in 6 acres of communal garden. It has an open, modern interior. Next door is the mostly 13th century church of St John the Evangelist. Convenient location for access to London or Cambridge on train (15 min walk to station, 30 mins on train to Kings Cross or about 45 to Cambridge). Car recommended for local tours & access to Welwyn Garden City (an unusual "planned town" from the 1920s&30s, itself of interest to town-planning buffs!). Two large reception rooms, fully equipped eat-in kitchen, 3 bedrooms (one queen with en suite shower room, one with bunk beds, one single), family bathroom, cloakroom, utility room with washer & dryer. Lower reception room has office desk, television, powered treadmill for exercise. Wifi. We can recommend plenty of local country walks to good pubs. Roman ruins at Welwyn, Hatfield House (where the first Queen Elisabeth spent some time) and GB Shaw's country house are all nearby.
