ABOUT GREENWICH VILLAGE
Greenwich Village is an exciting place to live, to visit, and a perfect place to stay to explore all of NYC. It is an active and safe neighborhood with all forms of public transport service, which makes it very easy to travel anywhere; there are many subway and bus stops nearby, some 1 or 2 blocks away.
Greenwich Village - or 'The Village' as locals call it - is primarily a residential neighborhood in the heart of NYC, and itself a very exciting, historical, attractive area to spend time in. There are many restaurants nearby, and within 3 blocks of the apartment you'll find: Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Afghani, Indian, Cuban, Latin, Italian, Vietnamese, and many more.
There are two parks nearby (Washington Square Park and Union Square Park), as well as two supermarkets, laundry/dry cleaners, pharmacies, and nearly every kind of store..
A car is not necessary - most New Yorkers use the excellent public transport system to get around the city - but if you have one there is parking on the street in the neighborhood and parking garages (one is across the street).
I am retired financial consultant with a second home outside of NYC. I enjoy exploring my own city, as well as places near and far. I have lived and worked in London and Panama, and have traveled extensively, and swapped homes (simultaneous and non-simultaneous) several times, as well as rented my home.
I am allergic to cats so I cannot stay in a home that has a cat or where a cat lives or has recently been. I do not smoke and am very considerate and respectful of others homes.
