Winchester is a picturesque New England town know for its wide leafy streets and quaint small town atmosphere. Reasons we love Winchester: several designer clothing boutiques, cupcakes from the Gingerbread Construction Company, fresh bread from Mamadou's North African-French bakery, New American cuisine at Parson's Table (voted Best New Restaurant in Boston by Zagat Guide 2011), casual family dining at the Black Horse Tavern, the art and crafts era public library, numerous public music performances, and the Griffin photography museum housed in a former mill. Organic supermarket is 5 minutes away, along with weekly farmer's market on town common. Swim in the Mystic Lakes and the kids will love the town's spray/splash park at the town beach. Visit nextdoor Lexington to relive the colonial era of America's revolutionary war. Explore American literary history in Concord in the footsteps of Thorough, Alcott, and Hawthorn. Nearby Cambridge, home to Harvard and MIT, is a true university town with its brainy and bohemian arts, cafe, and live music scene. Salem, home of the infamous 17th century witch trials and whaling port history, is an easy trip north on the highway, as are picturesque Atlantic beaches, antiquing, and seafood shacks. Travel further back in American history to the era of the Pilgrims at Plimouth Plantation, a living history museum where actors live the daily life on the Massachusetts Bay colony started in 1620. Boston's renowned art museums, landmarks, and the Freedom Trail are just 20 minutes by car or train.
Spend a weekend or longer in our New York City 2 bedroom/ 2 bath apartment. Also allows for non-simultaneous swaps.
