Home swapping on the rise as Britons tighten belts

It is estimated that up to £2,000 can be shaved off the cost of a family holiday if the family chooses to swap homes with another family instead of hiring a villa.

Over 3.2 million Britons have “home swapped” this year in an effort to save money on holidays, more than twice the expected number.

 

Debbie Wosskow, the founder of Love Home Swap, said: “The family holiday will look very different in 2012 and home swapping will play a large role in that transformation.”
