Happy Libra season! If you’re here, you’re most likely celebrating your birthday in September or October, and you’re looking for some home swap inspiration based on your balanced and charming personality traits. Well you’re in luck, as we’ve put together a little guide to the top four places that Libras will love… which should be helpful for these indecisive yet fun-loving souls!

Barcelona, Spain

Librans are social butterflies with an appetite to learn – so Barcelona in Spain has everything they’re looking for; amazing architecture, a plethora of history, museums and obviously a great nightlife! Don’t worry about narrowing down what to do when you’re there, as with a little forward-planning, you’ll be able to fit in everything, in a very short space of time.

We know Libras love nothing more than a structured holiday with a clear itinerary. So to begin, it wouldn’t be a swap to Barcelona without seeing architectural genius, Gaudi’s work. The good news is that you won’t have to look very hard, as you can spot Gaudi’s work all over Barcelona. The most famous example of his artistry is possibly the Sagrada Familia, an immense Roman Catholic Basilica which is still under construction. Next on the architectural tour should be Parc Güell – which will definitely please detail-orientated Librans. We recommend taking a hop-on-hop-off bus tour to get a real taste of just how influential Gaudi was. Once you’d had your fill of Gaudi, look to his rival Picasso for yet more artistic delights. Head to Museu Picasso for your chance to see some of his most extensive collections!

Now you’ve conquered the artistic side of Barcelona, you might be wondering what you can do to relax, unwind and enjoy the balanced holiday of your dreams. Well, we would recommend heading straight for a wander down Las Ramblas for some market stall browsing. This famous street will take you all the way to the stunning beach which has tons of space for sunbathing – don’t forget to pack a lightweight towel so that you can have a quick dip in the ocean.

Now you wouldn’t be a Libra if food wasn’t one of your main priorities, so make a booking at Casa de Tapes Cañota to experience some true Catalan tapas and a glass or two of Spanish wine.

Finally, if you’re a Libra who appreciates a good nightlife, then we’ve got you covered. There are a plethora of great bars and even nightclubs to go to in Barcelona (that’s if you’re not already exhausted). Consider popping into Dr Stravinsky where the in-house alchemists will make the cocktail of your dreams, or delve into the magical world of El Paradiso where you enter the bar through a wooden fridge door (yes, a fridge door!) Once you’re partied-out, head back to your home swap for a great night’s sleep. Enrique’s home in central Barcelona is the perfect base. Within walking distance of all the main attractions, make the most of the huge open space – it’s the perfect spot for a lazy morning coffee.

Barcelona’s magnificent architecture coupled with a fabulous nightlife will be sure to please a balanced Libra.

Seattle, USA

Combining an intensely exciting urban environment with beautiful natural surroundings, Seattle is a great travel option for adventure-loving Librans. In fact, with all the fun aspects of big city life whilst also being on the doorstep of huge mountains where daredevils can ski and hike, we’d go as far as saying that it’s one of the best destinations for fun-filled Librans.

It wouldn’t be a trip to Seattle without a visit to the world-renowned Space Needle which makes up such an important part of Seattle’s iconic skyline. Combine this with a trip to the famous Pioneer Square, and spend some time enjoying the other fantastic tourist sights nearby such as Pioneer Park.

Libras can be real foodies, so to quench your need for new flavours and culinary experiences, head to Pike Place Market. Here you can indulge in some really tasty treats from retailers such as The Pink Door, which serves up amazing Italian food, or Pike Place Chowder which offers some of the best clam chowder in the city.

Now, there is a huge range of different and exciting things to do within central Seattle, but if you’re a true Libra, we know you’ll be looking for that perfect balance of city life and relaxation. This is precisely why Seattle is such a great option, as just forty minutes beyond the city is Rattlesnake Ledge, which is known as being one of the best hikes near Seattle. A beautiful and gentle sloping trail through an old forest begins and ends at Rattlesnake Lake, where we recommend stopping for lunch or sunset! Ready for an even bigger nature-kick? Then look to the coast – in particular Puget Sound, which has huge populations of grey and humpback whales as well as dolphins. For the best opportunity to spot these amazing creatures, head to San Juan Islands which you can easily reach by boat tour – or the most adventurous Librans could even get there by seaplane!

After your excursions, you’re going to need a gorgeous home swap to retreat back to so that you can recharge your batteries! This stunning, waterfront Seattle home offers panoramic views of Elliot Bay. With three bedrooms, stunning interiors and a central Seattle location, this impressive property oozes comfort and luxury, which a Libra will appreciate.

The great contrast between city life and nature will provide Librans with the trip of a lifetime.

Mykonos, Greece

Libras are known for being very social creatures who love to embed themselves in fun environments and make new friends. If this sounds like you, then what better place to let your hair down, than on the exquisite island of Mykonos?! With loads of interesting day activities, as well as magnificent socialising opportunities at night, this lovely island is a great destination for fun-loving Librans.

Mykonos may have a reputation for being party-central, but there are plenty of things to do on this beautiful island. Mykonos Old Town is famous for its winding streets, white stone buildings and blue doors. You can book a guided tour if you fancy learning more about the town, or if you really want to soak up the history of the island, head to Delos where you can explore the most magnificent archaeological sites.

If you fancy a relaxing beach day, the quiet sands at Megali Ammos offer the perfect setting in which to soak up the sun and take a dip in the gorgeous turquoise waters.

Of course, if you are a party-loving Libra, then there are also tons of amazing beach clubs to visit in Mykonos where you can enjoy the social buzz without straying too far from your sunlounger. Some of our favourites are the famous Scorpios and Jackie O’s, where you can be waited on hand and foot for a truly luxurious experience! At night the island comes alive, so if you fancy a little dance then try Skandi Bar or Scarpa. But, if you’re more a drinks-and-early-to-bed type of Libra, then we’d recommend 180° Sunset Bar which is the ideal location from which to watch dusk fall with a chilled cocktail in your hand.

To make the most of this glamorous island, look no further than Francesco’s home which is the perfect retreat. With panoramic sea views and the feel of a five-star hotel, but the privacy of your being in your own space, this indulgent home sleeps up to ten guests, making it ideal for those who want to go on holiday with their friends and family – quite simply, what could be better for the most social butterflies of the zodiac?!

Mykonos has everything to please a social Libra.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Libras may be indecisive at times, but they are great at keeping a cool head, making them the perfect travelling buddies. That’s why we’d recommend Phnom Penh in Cambodia! This exotic capital city has a wealth of different things to do, and is a great starting point for any Librans looking for a long-term travel adventure.

One of the city’s most exciting attractions is the Royal Palace, home to the King of Cambodia, where you can wander the exquisite grounds and admire the architecture. Nearby, there is the famous Independence Monument, while Phsar Thmei, an art-deco market that sells antique jewellery is a tourist attraction in its own right. If you want to make the most of the Cambodian culture, you’ll be pleased to know that the city is also home to a number of amazing temples. We’d recommend going to see Wat Ounalom, a working temple that’s free to enter – you may even spot a Buddhist monk going about their day-to-day routines.

Whilst you’re here, it’s imperative that you enjoy some true Cambodian cuisine. For a quick and cheap bite to eat, make a stop at one of the street noodle bars that serve up katiev (noodles in a clear broth). Alternatively, we’d suggest dining at 54 Langeach Sros which is much-loved for their famous fried fish plus local barbequed specialities, such as the delicious ribs.

Anne’s home (which she describes as a little haven from the bustle and noise of the city) is the perfect base while you’re in Phnom Penh. The home itself is situated in a community of local Khmer people, only a few minutes’ walk from the city centre – making this the perfect place for a social Libra who is looking to make new connections.
