These are just some of our top picks for UK staycations this summer – and for our members further afield? Make a note of these amazing properties, because when the world opens up again, our members will be ready to welcome you into their homes with open arms.

England:

Modern Barn Conversion, Devon

This breathtaking barn conversion was designed and built by its architect owner! With a huge living space (at around 300m2 of floor area), this airy yet cosy rural retreat is one of our top picks for a home swap staycation. Featuring spectacular views of the countryside, a double-sided log burner, a hot tub and a pool table, this is the perfect way to shake off those lockdown blues! Close to many beautiful beaches such as Bigbury-on-Sea, you also have the option to go paddle boarding at the nearby River Avon. For a truly lovely evening meal, watch the sun set at The Crabshell Inn at Kingsbridge.

Next up, is another home with stunning views, this time over Cadgwith Cove on the Cornish coast. The cove offers up lovely British pubs such as the Cadgwith Cove Inn – prepare to while away a few hours with some local seafood and a cask ale or two, and stick around for folk music in the evening. Fancy a traditional cream tea? Then head to the Old Cellars restaurant. The home is close to many beaches on the Lizard Peninsula so you can go body boarding and even try surfing, then retreat to your beautiful hill-top hideout for a truly peaceful evening.

Located near the tube station (which provides you with direct access to  London’s many tourist destinations!) plus Regents Canal, you can walk the towpath to Camden, explore the quirky boutiques and wind down in one of the many local beer gardens.     

 

Ireland:

Boasting awe-inspiring views of Clifden Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the three-bedroom property is both spacious and cosy, with sliding doors leading from the dining room onto the patio. On the doorstep of The Wild Atlantic Way, there are great walks directly from the property, and there are oodles of fantastic eateries to try such as Marconi Restaurant.

 

Scotland:

This amazing property is hard to beat. Housed in an 1830’s harbourside development, this characterful home swap is based in the heart of the pretty town of Portree on the Isle of Skye. If you enjoy wildlife spotting, you’re in for a treat. Pack your binoculars, as from the property you’ll be able to see herons, seals and possibly even dolphins. If you’d like to see even more, then take one of the harbourside tours from right outside the front door – Spindrift Boat Cruises get a great write-up. Once at sea, you may get a chance to spot whales or even a white-tailed eagle. And after all that fresh air, you’ll be in need of a hearty meal. Head to The Three Chimneys for a real treat.

Built on the site of a former Edwardian beach pavilion, this detached property’s hillside perch commands far-reaching coastal views, while a private path leads down to soft golden sands at Coldingham Bay.
