At Love Home swap, we’re passionate about giving you the best possible home swapping experience. So the opportunity to join forces with HomeExchange was something that we simply couldn’t say no to. We know you’re bound to have lots of questions about what this means for your membership, so read on to find out more…
First things first, let’s be clear on what’s happening here. From 3rd March 2023, HomeExchange UK Limited (HomeExchange) are the new owners of Love Home Swap. Yes, that’s right – we’ve joined forces to create the world’s biggest and best home swapping service!
Our primary focus has always been to safely connect you, our incredible members, with like-minded travellers around the world, so we feel this is the right decision for our fantastic community. As such, HomeExchange now owns our business and assets, and we’ve got exciting plans to welcome and integrate Love Home Swap members into the community. Together, we are working on making this happen as seamlessly as possible, so that everyone can benefit from the numerous opportunities on HomeExchange’s platform.
We’re going to provide lots more information on the specifics of this soon, but first, let’s talk about what this means for you in the immediate future.
What happens next?
For the next few months, very little will change for you. Under the Love Home Swap brand, you’ll still be able to use the platform to showcase your home, find places you’d like to stay in, chat with other members and arrange swaps. And of course, all future bookings will continue as planned. The only difference is that the owner of our business will have changed. In other words, service will continue as normal, and you can continue to expect an amazing level of support from our Customer Care team, plus loads of great value travelling opportunities.
Later in the year, we’ll be welcoming all Love Home Swap members to HomeExchange’s website, so we’ll send you these details soon.
How this exciting change will benefit our members in the long-run (and HomeExchange’s members too!)
We wouldn’t have considered this as an option unless we were 100% sure that our members were in safe hands. And they (you!) really will be. We could give you a lengthy list of reasons about the benefits of this opportunity, but let’s keep it really simple:
- With over 100,000 members in more than 130 countries, HomeExchange is the world’s largest home swapping community. That’s a lot of members to connect with, and masses of countries to explore!
- Boasting more than 100,000 homes on their platform (before you’ve added in the 10,000 on Love Home Swap’s platform) HomeExchange have got a huge volume of homes available to their members – so it’s hardly surprising that a home swap is finalised every 2 minutes on their website.
- HomeExchange offer various services and worry-free guarantees that will enable you to swap your home(s) easily. Whether you opt for a reciprocal Classic Exchange (either at the same time or on different dates) or you choose to use GuestPoints is entirely up to you.
- HomeExchange is beautifully aligned with our key values: we always put our members first, we believe in transparent communication at every turn, and we’re deeply committed to delivering exceptional home swapping experiences.
With all this in mind, we decided that under the ownership of HomeExchange, we could help you embrace an even better home swapping experience.
The legal side of the sale
There are four key things to note:
- After you are welcomed into HomeExchange, the subscription price you have paid will continue to cover the remaining period of your membership. When your membership is due for renewal, you will be able to do so with HomeExchange. Just as Love Home Swap offers a Points system, so too does HomeExchange – HomeExchange will ensure that your membership Points will be transferred into HomeExchange’s GuestPoints.
- In connection with this sale, your personal information (known as personal data) will be transferred to HomeExchange. Just as with Love Home Swap, this personal data will be used by HomeExchange to provide a home exchange subscription service. After the sale, we will no longer be the ‘controller’ of this personal data, as this role will be taken up by HomeExchange.
- The terms of use that you have accepted remain unchanged but are now with HomeExchange.
- There is nothing for you to do, we just wanted to inform you of these changes will take effect from 3rd March 2023.

- How will you calculate the value of the Points I have earned through Love Home Swap, so that they become HomeExchange’s GuestPoints?
- I have a trip booked, but what happens if my swap partner ends their membership before our swap?
- What if I already have a membership with HomeExchange?
- When my membership is due for renewal, what price will I pay? Will it be the same as my previous Love Home Swap membership, or will I transfer over to HomeExchange’s prices?
- Will any trips booked via the Love Home Swap platform (until it ceases to exist) have fees attached?
- Will my membership be renewed on Love Home Swap or HomeExchange?
And that’s it for now. This was a big decision, but ultimately we think it’s going to result in a really incredible (and huge!) home swapping community that will provide you with the most unforgettable travels.
