2. Opium - Seven minutes from Leicester Square (Piccadilly and Northern)
Opium can be found in the heart of Chinatown and plays host to a seasonal cocktail menu that is so good you won't want to leave. With cocktails served in everything from quirky glasses to old Chinese medicine bottles, if you're looking for a not-your-typical cocktail bar then this is it.

Boasting some of the best bartenders in the world and winning the world's best bar for four consecutive years, Artesian has a lot to live up to. Luckily enough it stays open until 2am, giving you plenty of time to enjoy some Artesian classics or maybe something a little more adventurous.
4. American Bar (The Savoy) - Seven minutes from Charing Cross (Northern)
As the longest surviving 'American bar' in London, the American Bar has played host to some of the most famous names in the bartending industry, dating back to 1903 when they hired Ada Coleman who created what is still today their best selling cocktail, the Hanky Panky. Head down to The Savoy to try it for yourself.
5. Archer Street - Five minutes from Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly)
This little gem in the heart of Soho is one of the more relaxed London cocktail bars, with soft cushioned sofas and a homely feel this is the perfect place for a chilled out date or to relax with a group of girlfriends.
6. Smith and Whistle - Eight minutes from Green Park (Victoria, Jubilee and Piccadilly)
This Mayfair cocktail bar feels like stepping back into the 1920s with its old fashioned decor and old-school gangsta feel. If you're looking for a private space to plot with your closest allies or meet with secret companions then check out 'The Cooler', it even has its own phone line to order drinks from.
7. Buddha Bar - Four minutes from Knightsbridge (Piccadilly)
Whilst The Buddha Bar is also a restaurant it should not be overlooked for cocktails. As one of the most intricately designed places in London it is worth the visit for the interiors alone - although the cocktail menu is just as breathtaking.
