Summer is the perfect time of year to get some relaxing reading done. Whether you're on the beach or in the garden, we've chosen our top ten recently released books to help you enjoy the summer months even more.

Me Before You - Jojo Moyes

It may have been released last year, but this romantic novel had to make it onto our list. A New York Times bestseller is the loving and heart wrenching tale of two, very different, people. WARNING - It is very likely that you'll cry after reading this book (you can just use your sunglasses to hide your teary eyes).

The Girl on the Train - Paula Hawkins

Another bestseller AND film remake - this book is one for the thriller lovers. It may make you feel on edge but there is no way you will be able to put this novel down once you've started. It's set to be a huge hit this summer!

The Road to Little Dribbling: More Notes from a Small Island - Bill Bryson

This book is a serious crowd-pleaser. Twenty years on from the release of The Road to Little Dribbling, Bryson is back and making us laugh more than ever. As he roams around Britain, he tells us of his journey and the rather drastic changes that he has observed. It may sound heavy in places, but Bryson's witty sense of humour makes this a must-read for the summer.

You'll Grow Out of It - Jessi Klein

Klein is a comedian by trade, so it's unsurprising that this book will make you cry with laughter. Talking of her tomboy childhood and the perils of late-blooming, this hilarious book explores and humanises the twenty-first century woman.

Homegoing - Yaa Gyasi

This novel will possibly be one of the best books you'll ever read. It's emotional, it's breath-taking and it's just simply amazing. It tells a story moving over 300 years in Ghana and emphasises the importance and difficulties of families and relationships.

Modern Lovers - Emma Straub

This novel will relate to anyone. It's about a group of friends who've grown up, loved, laughed, had families and finally have to see their own children do the same thing. It's entertaining, funny and heart-warming - perfect beach material.

Rogue Lawyer - John Grisham

Another amazingly colourful book from Grisham. Rogue Lawyer is what it says on the tin - a lawyer who goes against the traditional system. Plus, the characters are more vivid than ever, making this novel one of the best you'll read this summer.

Trigger Mortis - Anthony Horowitz

Yes, you've guessed correctly - it's another James Bond novel! This time we're heading back to the 1950s and it's a pleasingly Bond as ever. There's thrills, romance, car chases and everything you'd typically expect it to be. We promise you won't be disappointed.

Wintering - Peter Geye

Despite the name, this book is a great summer read. Said to be a truly epic love story, Wintering is another one of those books you'll be annoying your friends with. Spanning over sixty years, this novel will make you smile, laugh and potentially cry (but it's worth it).

According to Yes - Dawn French

It's another novel written by Dawn French so you know it's going to be funny. Writing about a slightly crazy and eccentric 30-something year old who moves to New York to escape her previous life. It's uplifting, hilarious and a definite page-turner.
