So, San Miguel de Allende has pipped some of the finest cities in the world to the post of top city in Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers Choice Awards.
In light of this, we at Love Home Swap celebrate right alongside this great Mexican city by showcasing three of our favourite homes for exchange in the area.
So, San Miguel de Allende has pipped some of the finest cities in the world to the post of top city in the Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers Choice Awards. In light of this, we at Love Home Swap celebrate right alongside this great Mexican city by showcasing three of our favourite homes for swaps in the area.
In no particular order, we begin with a lovely colonial home in the area of Guanajuato owned by our member Carole, a psychotherapist & artist. Besides the Mexican charm strewn throughout, from the artwork on the walls to the tiles in the courtyard, this house provides you with all you’ll ever need for a little getaway in San Miguel; a location right in the hub of it all, and (for when you just can't pull yourself away) every amenity possible.
Built in the 18th Century, our second San Miguel home is also pretty special. Retired owner Robert has clearly worked hard on his vacation property, creating a vibrant home from home, strewn with plants & colour from top to bottom. By day bask on the gorgeous terrace equipped with mammoth BBQ and views to die for and by night, if a rooftop dinner party doesn't take your fancy, an array of restaraunts can be found just three blocks away.
Last but not least, we present you with a Love Home Swap favourite - both in the office, and with our members! Boasting 10 bedrooms, a pool and one fabulous terrace of flowers, it’s a little haven of San Miguel luxury to say the least. Owners Bill & Carole also happen to be two of our most avid swappers, having exchanged homes with Pammie from the Virgin Islands and Conrad from London, to name just two. But don't worry, home swapping regularly hasn't compromised their knowledge of San Miguel. No, No. Bursting with suggestions to keep you busy, from art exhibitions to pyramid visits and riding lessons, they provide you with all you'll need to be happy indoors and out.
