How do I book swaps with Instant?

Easy. Once you’re an Instant user, just search for Instant homes on your regular search page. Instant homes will be marked with an Instant lightning bolt.

Select the home you are interested in and choose from the available Instant dates on the right hand side. To see all available dates, select See more dates.

Select Book to start the Instant booking process. You can review your trip itinerary before the Points are spent.

After booking, there will be an open discussion between you and your host in the inbox - we recommend dropping your host a friendly message to say hello

 

Can I use my current Points for Instant?

Absolutely. Your Points can be used for both regular Points swaps and Instant swaps.

You will need to become an Instant user to start spending your Points on Instant swaps

Can I book any home with Instant?

You can book any home with available dates for Instant. You will need the right number of Points to book

Can I still do Direct swaps and Points swaps?

Of course. Instant provides you with an extra way to travel on top of your current options.

To request a direct swap or Points swap with a home listed for Instant, toggle to Classic & Points on the right hand side of their listing. The booking and agreement experience will be exactly the same as before for you

Can I talk to the owner of the Instant home?

Once your swap is booked, there will be an open discussion with your host in your inbox - we recommend dropping your host a friendly message to say hello.

You can still have discussions for direct swaps and Points swaps

Are there Instant homes where I want to go? Where can I find them?

To find homes listed for Instant in a certain location go to your search page. Type where you would like to go and in the ‘travelling with’ section, choose Instant.

Instant is still new for many users, so we might not yet have a property in your specific destination. Other members are joining each day, so we recommend checking regularly to see what’s been added

The dates listed don’t exactly match mine. How can I ask for different dates?

Instant uses set dates. If the dates don’t work for you, select see more dates to check if there some more suitable ones listed.

If you can’t find more suitable dates, we recommend requesting a direct swap or Points swap. Instant dates cannot be changed once added

Will I get my Points back if I cancel a trip?

In the event that you need to cancel an agreed Points trip, the following policy will apply to returned Points:

  • Cancellation up to 48 hours after agreeing the trip - 100% of Points returned
  • Cancellation up to 4+ months before the start of the trip - 75% of Points returned
  • Cancellation 2-4 months before the start of the trip - 50% of Points returned.
  • Cancellation 1-2 months before the start of the trip - 25% of Points returned.
  • Cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the trip - no Points returned
