How do I book?

Once you have a total rental cost confirmed by your host, you can agree to the terms of the rental and pay using the 'Book now' button on the Messages page.

This will highlight the terms of the rental and allow you to pay by credit or debit card. We then securely hold this payment until 48 hours after the trip has begun to ensure everyone is fully happy with how things have gone.

How do I get started?

Simply sign up with a few basic details, then search for a home by telling us when and where you'd like to travel. Click 'Contact member' on the property that you want to rent, to send the owner an enquiry.

How can I cancel?

Sometimes plans change - so firstly please be aware that we've created a way for you and your host to alter a reservation, which might allow you to avoid the cancellation altogether. We strongly encourage you message your Host on the site to discuss your options before canceling a reservation.

If you do choose to cancel your reservation on site you will subject to the cancellation policy at the time of booking. Please note the Love Home Swap service fee is non-refundable.

What if my host cancels?

When a host has officially canceled your reservation with Love Home Swap, you will automatically receive an email and call from the Love Home Swap team explaining that we have credited your account for the amount you paid for the reservation. Then we can either transfer your payment onto another listing, or refund you in full (including service fees).

What are rental service fees?

We charge guests a 10% service fee for every reservation booked. This service fee goes towards the site's operation, enables the platform that we provide and allows us to offer amazing customer support before, during, and after travel.

In the event a guest cancels a reservation, the service fee is non-refundable.

What cancellation policies do you have?

Host's will require the use of one of our four cancellation policies when renting a property.

Relaxed Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled by the guest more than 2 weeks before the start of the stay - guest will receive an 85% refund.

Bookings cancelled by the guest between 1 and 2 weeks before the start of the stay - guest will receive a 42.5% refund.

Bookings cancelled by the guest within 1 week of the start of the stay - guest will not receive a refund.

Cancellations must be made by 12 midday CET (Central European Time) on the appropriate day.

Love Home Swap service fees are non-refundable.

Moderate Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled by the guest more than 1 month before the start of the stay - guest will receive an 85% refund.
Bookings cancelled by the guest between 1 month and 2 weeks before the start of the stay - guest will receive a 42.5% refund.
Bookings cancelled by the guest within 2 weeks of the start of the stay - guest will not receive a refund.
Cancellations must be made by 12 midday CET (Central European Time) on the appropriate day.
Love Home Swap service fees are non-refundable.

Firm Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled by the guest more than 2 months before the start of the stay - guest will receive an 85% refund.
Bookings cancelled by the guest between 1 and 2 months before the start of the stay - guest will receive a 42.5% refund.

How will I check-in?

You can check these details with your host prior to booking. After booking your rental, hosts are directed to send a detailed report into how to access the property, address details and anything else you need to know about your rental stay.

Can I alter my booking?

Absolutely. Once you've booked you can amend your reservation through the website or by contacting customer services on info@lovehomeswap.com.

You'll need your host to approve any changes you make. Prior to agreement from your host, Love Home Swap will make any due refunds within 7 days of the amendment being agreed.
