How do Points work?

Points allow you travel flexibly. There's no need to match dates and locations with other members when organising swaps. Use the time your home sits empty to earn Points which you can spend to holiday in any of our other members' homes.

You set your own value, starting at 50 Points per night and going up to 300, going up by 50 Points each time.

To help you decide how many Points to ask for, we'll recommend you a value, which you can see by clicking 'Points' at the top of your screen, then selected 'Flex my Points', where you can also choose the rate you ask for.

 

How do I earn Points and how many will I get?

You'll earn Points whenever you agree a Points trip with another member through our secure on-site messaging service.

We also offer Points to get you started when you sign up for your first year of annual membership. Lite members receive 150 bonus Points, Standard 500 and Platinum 1000 bonus Points.

How much you earn is up to you. All members start with a 100 Points per night value, but we'll also recommend you a value based on your home and the area you live in.

To take a look at your recommended value and change your nightly rate, click 'Flex my Points' under the Points icon at the top of your screen.

How many Points should I ask for?

We'll recommend you a value based on what we already know about your home, however you can decide how much you'd like to ask for.

You can see your recommended Points value in the Points section, just click the Points icon at the top of your screen and click 'Flex my Points'

How do I spend my Points?

You'll be able to use your Points to arrange trips with any of our other members who have opted into the Points system.

You can search for Points trips for homes available during the dates you want to travel by selecting 'Points' from the trip types drop down box on the search page. You can send members a swap request for a Points trip just as you would with a regular swap. When the trip is agreed the Points will be deducted from your balance.

What if I don't have enough Points for the trip I want to make?

You'll need to have enough Points to book before you're able to agree a Points trip with another member. You can earn more Points by accepting Points trips to your home.

Can I change my homes’ availability?

You can amend your availability calendar anytime, selecting as many dates as you'd like for when you're looking to swap, or when your home will be free, up to two years from now.

Once you've agreed a trip, you will be unable to amend the dates you've set for your trip, as your fellow Swapper may have already made travel arrangements. For this reason, it is important to keep your calendar up-to-date and only commit to Swaps once you're certain of your dates. We reserve the right to suspend your membership if you do not honour your agreed trips.

What if a host needs to cancel my Points trip?

In the event your host can no longer accommodate you for your agreed Points trip, you will receive a full refund of the Points.

Are Points included in my membership?

Absolutely.

All annual members of Love Home Swap can use the Points system at no extra cost.

You will receive bonus Points in your first year of membership to get you started. Points are not included with the renewal of your membership.

What if I need to cancel a Points trip?

In the event that you need to cancel an agreed Points trip, the following policy will apply to returned Points:

Cancellation up to 48 hours after agreeing the trip - 100% of Points returned

Cancellation up to 4+ months before the start of the trip - 75% of Points returned

Cancellation 2-4 months before the start of the trip - 50% of Points returned.

Cancellation 1-2 months before the start of the trip - 25% of Points returned.

Cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the trip - no Points returned.

Can I opt out of Points?

If Points aren't for you, you can opt out of the system. This means you won't show in member searches for Points trips and you will not be able to send or receive requests for Points trips.

All you need to do is adjust your preferences in 'Trip Preferences'.

Does having enough Points guarantee me a trip?

Just like swapping, trips using Points are an agreement between members. Points trips are accepted at the discretion of the host. Having enough Points for the trip does not guarantee you a trip.

Do I have to accept Points requests for dates I’ve made my home available?

Just as it's your choice to decide who you swap with, it's your choice to decide who you accept for Points trips.

We'd encourage you to approve requests in order to keep the system balance and in order to earn more Points for yourself.

We reserve the right to suspend a member's Points service if they repeatedly reject Points requests without reasonable justification.
