About our home

Albion's historic War Homes Estate was built for, and probably by, veterans returning from World War 1. The area is rich with Melbournes history, with a large roundabout nearby the site of many an angry meeting of those fierce invalids, home from hot climates, and the Eclipse Flour Mill silos that mark the recently refurbished Albion train station. In easy walking distance is an array of North and South Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, African and Afgahni restaurants, and three great opportunity shops for those with a little time to spare. But what is really on offer for the intrepid Melbourne traveler, is the opportunity to live briefly on the frontier: I'm telling you, it's the Wild, Wild, West out here. I think that to know Melbourne you have to live or work in North and East and West (haven't made it South yet, but it's on my radar now). Before you go travelling and tell the world about Melbourne, I invite you to come and fraternise with the new arrivals, the junkies and the poor. You'll find mostly good people, and it will be educative, I've always found it to be so. After all, the great religious leaders hung out with whores and junkies, in their wisdom, why not give it a go?
