About our home

Our home is nestled in a secluded but not isolated area of south Western Australia. Surrounded on three sides by native bushland, and one kilometre off the main highway down a gravel road with friendly neighbours, the home is a large colourblind shed built on 60 acres. We have planted many shrubs and trees to attract birds and enjoy their musical symphony each morning. The interior of our home is heavily furnished and the mistress of the house collects rocking horses and tins the display of which adds a relaxed comfortableness to our home. The master of the house has built a mezzaninebout of recycled timber and has three double bedrooms plus an extra double bed in the master bedroom, which also has its own little sitting area and television. Especially cosy in winter when the downstairs log fire is sending the heat upstairs.
There is one bathroom, toilet and laundry downstairs beneath the master bedroom.
The stairs descend from the mezzanine into the spacious open plan lounge dining and kitchen areas.
Beyond that is another large bedroom, suitable for children containing single and king single beds and a cot and change table for infant. Plus a settee (old piano) and television.
The south front of the house opens with French windows onto a garden terrace and barbecue area with a fish pond, gardens and shady pergolas built by the mistress of the house with materials at hand.
Our property is ideally located for access to the rich tourist areas of the southwest around Margaret River, Pemberton, Busselton, Denmark and the coastline where access to surfing and snorkelling, wineries, cheese and chocolate factories is abundant.
One of our neighbours hosts outdoor jazz and other band evenings during summer where you can walk a few hundred metres with your picnic dinner and enjoy the serene ambiance and neighbourliness of the Australian bush and its country musical charm.
