About our home

My home is a charming, comfy and conveniently located semi detached home near Sydney CBD and airport. The kitchen and bathroom have been recently renovated with gas cooking and dishwasher plus a laundry cabinet with washing machine and sink. The interior has period features with high ceilings. French doors from the kitchen dining area lead out to a shaded deck and leafy garden.

  1. I'm a single mature woman and I like to visit my son who lives in London and travel to various places around Europe

  2. I'm a teacher librarian and of course love books, visiting libraries, museums and interesting bookshops. I lived and worked in an International school in Japan for 9 years.

  3. I love art, books, gardens and gardening, travel and meeting new people.

Where is it?


Arncliffe is one of the older, historic suburbs of southern Sydney and located in the Bayside local government area. Central and providing access to Sydney CBD and to North, South and West to Blue Mountains via good public transport and motorways make it an ideal location for visitors wanting to explore the vibrant and picturesque city of Sydney and NSW. Closer you'll find parks and bike trails to explore around the Cooks river and Wolli Creek. Sydney airports both domestic and International are close by with trains to airports and city only a short walk of around 10-15 minutes to Arncliffe train station. It takes 20 minutes to commute into the city with access to iconic sites such as the Opera House and beautiful Sydney Harbour. You can also stay on the train and travel to the Eastern beachside areas including Bondi Beach! 10 minutes away by car you'll find Brighton Beach and the gorgeous Georges River and Port Hacking waterways where swimming, surfing, boating and picnicking are popular activities.
Close by and up the Princes Hwy towards central Sydney CBD you'll find the delightful inner suburban suburb of Newtown. From hidden treasures to delicious surprises Newtown is a funky and bohemian inner western suburb and is an enticing destination for lunch or dinner and finding a music venue or play or other cultural pursuit.

Buzzy restaurants
Arncliffe has some great Middle-eastern, Indian and Asian restaurants. Especially delicious are some cafes specializing in Lebanese deserts and pastries such as baklava and many other gorgeous goodies. The area generally is an eclectic mix of many cultures where eateries vary from Japanese to Indian to up market restaurants near the sea in Brighton and further south along Botany Bay, George's River and the Port Hacking. Cronulla and the Southern Beaches are accessible with many good restaurants and cafes to choose from.
Cool bars
It's central location means that if a night out is planned where not too far away in hip areas like Newtown and the Inner West and other spots like Surry Hills close to the city and around the beach and bayside areas.
Retail therapy
King Street Newtown has a marvelous range of designer and alternative boutiques, gift emporiums, vintage stores and bookshops. Westfield shopping centres are a short drive or train ride south to Hurstville and a bit further to nearly upgraded and extended Westfield with high end fashion, homewares and including a an array of restaurants and cafes at Westfield Miranda. Travel by train into Sydney and shop and explore a variety of shopping meccas. From designer labels and high-street fashion to vintage shops, offbeat designs and vibrant markets. Take a ferry across Harbour to Balmain and Double Bay.
Bit of culture
A short drive or train ride from here you'll find a huge array of theatres, galleries and cinemas in the Inner West areas of Sydney. The Enmore Theatre, just one of many, is located in the Newtown Entertainment precinct which hosts Sydneys unique heartland of live performance, music and comedy. The Factory in Marrickville, The Forum Cultural Centre in Leichhardt, Carriageworks represent just a few of this areas diverse cultural venues.
Spot of exercise
Nearby are bike trails which take you via pretty streets, parkland and along the Cooks River waterways to the city. Walks through local streets will take you down into the Bardwell Balley which is home to a variety of amazing birds and other wildlife such as possums and flying foxes. Walks along the esplanade at Brighton Beach followed by a swim in Botany Bay and lunch at a beachside cafe might be a pleasant way to keep fit. Plenty of parks nearby and a short train trip away in the parks of Sydney and around the Harbour also offer fun walks to keep up your fitness while seeing the best of Sydney while you're about it. There are also several gyms in the area if you really want to get serious about exercising.
Day tripping
The Bayside local area which includes Arncliffe is conveniently and centrally located to travel and visit the scenic South coast and Illawarra as well as National Parks on the edge of Sydney and further to the nation's capital, Canberra. Canberra is about 3 hours drive south travelling through either the alternative and scenic route through the Southern Highlands or straight down the M5 motorway. There is also train and air flights to Canberra. Other shorter day trips or several Day stays might include the awe inspiring and beautiful Blue Mountains, the wine regions of the Hunter Valley and the Central Coast. Just to name a few!
