Our home is a modern two-storey 4-bedroom house with a medium sized grassed backyard. Located in a quiet street adjoining bushland, we are a five minute (500 metre) walk from the beautiful Garvey Park and banks of the Swan River. But at the same time we're only a 15-minute drive (30 minute bus trip) from the city centre.
The house is obviously set up for children. The backyard is completely enclosed and securely fenced. There's a huge trampoline and enough lawn for littlies to run around on. Out the front is a l-o-n-g flat, paved driveway, perfect for scootering, skateboarding and riding bikes. We have heaps of ride-ons (suit ages 2 to 8). The footpath that goes past our house leads down to the cycleway along the river, so you can go for bike rides to the city (riverside most of the way) or to the Swan Valley (wineries, chocolate factories etc). The nearest train station is about a 15 / 20 minute ride away and you can take bikes on the train here.
Inside, the house is clean, tidy and organised. There is a master bedroom with ensuite upstairs, two children's bedrooms downstairs, each with a low loft bed, and a guest bedroom with a regular single bed. There are toys and books galore for 2-8 year olds. The only thing we don't have (which some people might find odd!) is a TV, by choice. However, we have unlimited wifi (and you can get pretty much anything on the Net) so it's never bothered any of our house guests.
We haven't done a house swap before so this is all a bit new to me. The place I really want to go this year is Tokyo, to visit all the theme parks and catch up with some Japanese friends. The WA April or Sep/Oct school holidays would be ideal. So that's April 8 to April 23 or Sep 23 to October 8. However, it doesn't have to be the full 2 weeks. 7-10 days would be perfect.
If you'd love to visit sunny Perth during either of those time frames and you've got accommodation that would suit one adult and two small children, please feel free to get in touch!
