About our home

Our home is light and spacious with well-established gardens, lawns and trees, in a quiet and prestigious suburb close to the Swan River. It is a quiet, welcoming and relaxing house to live in - well cared for, with ambiance and character as well as all the modern facilities you could need - including wireless internet.

We have two lounge areas - one at the back of the house has lots of comfortable seating to relax in or watch television and French doors which offer wonderful garden views and open onto an undercover outside decking area with gas barbecue and outdoor dining areas. Another lounge room in the front of the house is more formal with comfortable sofas, a large television and views out into the garden, as well as connecting to the dining room.

The kitchen is light, spacious and fully-equipped, with a large central work bench, Bosch dishwasher and all the usual kitchen machines and tools, plus more cookbooks than you could ever want!

There are two large bedrooms - one at the front and one at the back of the house - each with queen sized beds, wardrobe and drawer storage space. And there are two separate bathrooms - located next to each bedroom. We have a room that we use for meditation, art and reading and we also have a study with desktop computer and printer which our exchangers can use if they need it.

We have a dining room as well as indoor and outdoor casual eating areas.

A large fully equipped laundry room contains a washing machine and a dryer - but we prefer using our outdoor clothes line which is under cover and perfect for all-weather clothes drying.

Because we have large trees, the house retains a comfortable temperature for most of the year, but we have reverse-cycle air-conditioning units all over the house to provide heating and cooling if required.

With Perth's wonderful weather, we spend a lot of time using our outdoor seating/eating areas. French doors in the house lead directly onto the undercover timber decking and outdoor dining areas with a large gas barbecue and also to steps to access lawns and garden areas.

Our property is private and has a secure double garage. Gardens are watered automatically via our own reticulation system and our lawns are mowed regularly. A car is offered as part of our home exchange - but for exchangers who would rather use public transport, there is also a very convenient bus service only 2 minutes walking distance from our house and you can travel easily to Perth or Fremantle.

All in all, we believe we have a comfortable, attractive and well-organised home - perfect for discerning home exchangers, easy and enjoyable to live in and close to everything you could need to enjoy the relaxed Western Australian lifestyle. We love it and you will too.

More about us

  1. We are Suzanne and Mike, a retired couple, relishing our freedom to travel, to explore and experience new places and to meet new people. We are experienced home exchangers and non-smokers who enjoy exploring interesting and beautiful places; walking; reading; cooking and eating fine food and appreciating good wine; as well as spending time relaxing and socialising with family and friends. We love to spend time in Europe and have a married daughter and a new grandchild who live there so we look forward to home exchange offers in the northern hemisphere that offer opportunities to spend time closer to her.

Our home exchanges are often non-simultaneous as we often travel away from home in our caravan, and we have flexibility in timing so please don't hesitate to contact us with any offer that suits you. We will do our best to accommodate you. We also have a desire to explore parts of Europe in a motorhome ... so if you would like to exchange our home for your motorhome, please contact us.

We have no pets and we prefer exchanges that do not require pet care. Although our home does not have a swimming pool, we are experienced pool maintainers. We prefer home exchanges that include a car exchange and have an excellent car for exchangers to use.

We take very good care of our home and offer the same to any exchanges we undertake. Please contact us if you have any questions or interest, we will respond.
