About our home

Our home is a contemporary open plan dwelling. It is full of light with large windows leading out to the deck and onto the garden. The house has wooden floors with scattered rugs. It has three bedrooms but we will need to close one to store our belongings. The master bedroom has a queen bed, with an en-suite, second bedroom has two single beds and the third has a double bed and also a sofa bed. You can choose which second bedroom you would like. Our kitchen is open plan, very functional and good for entertaining. The back garden has a tropical feel and a variety of birds visit us every day, especially our favourites - the King parrots which can eat out of your hand.
Avalon is a happy, easy going place situated on the northern peninsular of Sydney. The village itself (five minutes away by car) has a supermarket, many boutiques, lots of cafes and bars. We have a cinema, a library where you can borrow books, a recreation centre, and many yoga classes you can temporarily join. We are surrounded by beaches and have beautiful walks here; our favourite is to the lighthouse at Palm Beach with a glorious view over the ocean and you may even see whales if they are travelling up or down the coast on the way to their breeding grounds. Dolphins appear regularly too. You will be able to walk to Whale Beach in twenty minutes, Avalon Beach in twenty minutes and Palm Beach in forty minutes which we believe is the most beautiful beach in Sydney, but perhaps we are biased. The walk to Bangalley Headland gives you stunning coastal views. Also a short stroll through the park adjoining the house will take you to Careel Bay on Pittwater. Ferries from Palm Beach will take you across Pittwater to beautiful locations, including national parks. There is a bus stop to the city a short walk from the house.
