About our home

This is our newest lodge - we rent it as part of our beautiful retreat - a forested 130 acres fronting lake and a short walk along a private track to our stunning beach. We call it "Indigo Retreat West Lodge" and it only opened to guests in Dec 2015.

It is a character wooden building that has had a huge contemporary rebuild. Think rustic chunky timbers, stone and concrete. Think light and space and high cathedral ceilings with courtyard gardens and luxurious touches. We love the beautiful picture windows, reflection pool and variety of places to sit and enjoy the environment.

It has been designed for 1 or 2 couples, each with a quirky loft bedroom and ensuite. There is also a third bedroom.

The lodge has its own private infinity plunge pool, outdoor Japanese bath, private gym and yoga space, satellite (cable) TV, open wood fire, outdoor wood pizza oven and fire pit. It also has a Bose stereo, flat screen tellie that you can just about watch from the pool and Foxtel/Austar cable TV.

**We're sorry because of the level of luxury and the many water hazards on this property it is not suitable for children ***

The retreat is at "the Murrah" - an area only 12 minutes to the charming and pristine fishing village of Bermagui on the far south coast of NSW. It It is also right on the coastal art trail, and borders Mimosa Rocks National Park which has stunning spotted gum and burrawang forest, numerous untouched beaches and crystal clear lagoons.

If you're coming from interstate or overseas, this really is a stunning part of the world. We looked all around Australia before settling on this piece of coastline. You'll see bush and wildlife - wallabies outside the lodge every evening, charming old wooden bridges, lush green farmland, beachside drives and winding forested roads. The area is famous for being untouched, full of natural beauty and inspiring creative arts, rest and healing.

Nearby Bermagui is a very pretty and undeveloped coastal village with a population of about 2000 people. It's the perfect place for topping up food and holiday supplies and has more than enough restaurants, wine bars and cafes to try out over the space of a week or two. The historic village of Tilba and coastal towns Tathra and Merimbula are easily accessible for day trips.

Bermagui is about 3 hours from Canberra, 5-6 hours from Sydney and 8 hours from Melbourne by car. There is also an airport 45 minutes away at Merimbula, but you would need to hire a car from there to get to the retreat and get around.

We have staff who don't live on the property but who come a few times a week who can help you, provide luxury linen, bikes and kayaks you can use.
