About our home

Port Macquarie Australia is located halfway between the Gold Coast, Queensland and Sydney, NSW on the New South Wales coast at the mouth of the Hastings River. The weather in Port Macquarie is beautiful all year round and temperatures range from 20c to 32c in summer and from 8c to 21c in winter.
Some of the activities you can enjoy in Port Macquarie are swimming in the pristine waters at any one of the 14 Port Macquarie beaches, walking through the national parks of Port Macquarie and taking in some of the historical sites such as Timbertown. Fishing in Port Macquarie is another popular pastime.
Getting to and from Port Macquarie is easy. You can drive there yourself of fly into the town via its own domestic airport. There are also regular inter-city coach services and train services at nearby Wauchope.

Port Macquarie is a true water lover's paradise. Enjoy a cruise up the beautiful Hastings River and be mesmerised by the sight of whales off the coast and dolphins playing just under the surface. If your after something with a bit more pace, you can have ago at water skiing, or for the ultimate thrill, jump on a jet boat for a ride you'll never forget!
Port Macquarie is known for it's clean and uncrowded beaches, they are the perfect spot for visitors of all ages and interests. For a relaxing family picnic, game of beach cricket with friends, 4WD adventure or the chance to try your hand at surfing, the perfect beach is just waiting to be found. if you have never surfed but would like to you can go to Surf school.
Greater Port Macquarie has 18 different beaches to choose from, of which 6 are lifeguard patrolled, 8 are dog friendly and almost all of them suitable for swimming and surfing.
The six beaches around Port Macquarie all face different directions. Town Beach is at the northern end of town, just before the river mouth. The southern end of Town beach is good for sheltered swimming due to the protection offered by the rocky outcrop of Flagstaff Hill, the northern end of the beach has some good waves and the current strengthens as you approach the river mouth.
Going south, the next beach is Oxley's Beach, a pleasant spot for a picnic.
Continuing south, the next beach is Flynn's Beach, which is Port Macquarie's more popular beach with good surf conditions, barbecue facilities and a surf club that regularly patrols the beach.
Nobby's Beach is just south of Flynn's and offers some spectacular views of the coastline from the southern end. Shelley Beach is the next beach south from Nobby's. Shelley Beach offers protected swimming and is home to Harry's lookout which was named after a local legend who 'was squatting there since the 60's until his recent death.
