Our privately built home is on the doorstep of some of the oldest and most majestic National Parks and deserts in the world.
Our three bedroom, one bathroom, separate toilet, large home is pet-friendly and child-friendly. Relax in the high ceiling roomy carpeted lounge room with giant windows to give you a sense of space and a gas heater for those cold desert nights. The walkthrough kitchen, equipped with electric wall oven and gas hotplate, Miele dishwasher, double sink and plenty of bench space, has a built-in dinner table and an exit to the outdoor, undercover living space with outdoor seating, lounge, BBQ, TV, veggie patch, trampoline in the backyard, handyperson workshop and well-equipped gymnasium in the huge shed. We have 5 bikes for different sized people.
400 metres down the street leads you to a large athletic oval and walking bush tracks. The local shopping strip has an IGA, a chemist, a bottleshop, a doctors clinic, and a butcher.
1.5 kilometers north of our home, located within the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve, the Telegraph Station is the birthplace of the Alice Springs township. It is an excellent value and must-see destination to add to your itinerary with guided tours, the trailstop cafe and mountain bike trails.
3.5 kilometers into the Centre of Town with all the amenities you could ask for, including world-renowned Aboriginal owned art centres and galleries, The Royal Flying Doctors, cafes, restaurants, museums, cinemas, the Reptile Centre, Olive Pink Botanical Gardens and tourist information centres. spanning 200 km on either side of the Town runs the prehistoric mountain ranges called the West and East MacDonnells , soon to be world heritage listed, and boasting the most magnificent gorges, rivers and chasms.
Alice Springs is certainly a must-see destination.
