About our home

Our house is just one minutes walk from Sylvan Beach, which is on a stretch of water called the Pumicestone Passage, here, there are great views across the water to The Glasshouse Mountains in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The house is a spacious three bedroom single story dwelling,in a popular and busy part of the island with inground swimming pool surrounded by palms and sub-tropical vegetation. There are all the conveniences for modern day living - broadband internet connection, satellite tv, terrace with barbecue, wooden floors, queensize and double bed, etc, etc.

More about us

  1. We are two retired teachers, both with art and design degrees, who desire to visit other countries on a more regular basis, and in a more leisurely manner than we have done in the past. We are looking forward to exchange with people who want to experience the pleasures of this wonderful part of sub-tropical Queensland. Many wonderful areas are within a short drive of the island, and we offer a car as part of the exchange. Ideally we are looking for an exchange of 2/3 months, somewhere between July and December of 2009,however,we are flexible and open to offers for either shorter or longer periods of duration.

Where is it?

Our house is on Bribie Island which lies in the South Pacific, just 50 minutes north of Brisbane the capital of Queensland, Brisbane is a friendly city with great shopping, art galleries, museums and restaurants. Bribie Island is joined to the mainland by a bridge - the island is 45 minutes from Brisbane's international and domestic airports. The island has excellent facilities for fishing, swimming, bowling and golfing - the island is quite small and everything is easily accessible -there is good shopping and a choice of restaurants and clubs to cater for most tastes. Bribie has a wonderful winter climate sunny warm days and very pleasant cool evenings.
