More about us

  1. Stephen and Pauline are retired teachers who have completed several exchanges and travelled to many countries. We love outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, fishing and bird watching. Stephen is a keen landscape artist. , We are interested in shorter term-up to 3 weeks- exchanges to (esp.) Suffolk or Norfolk(UK) New Zealand and Tasmania from 2020 on but would consider other offers from within Australia Our Hyundai SUV, automatic would possibly be available for exchange. We sometimes travel with another couple-of course you would be welcome to do the same.

Where is it?

The small town of Bright is one of Victoria's main tourist attractions, about three to four hours drive from Melbourne-about a third of the way to Sydney-and there are bus /train links as well. There are many excellent coffee shops and restaurants, two pubs, a boutique brewery and small cafes-all within walking distance (900 meters) of our house. Nearby are some excellent wineries; and it is not far to the historic towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah. There is a rail trail for walking and cycling; the nearby mountains offer excellent hiking, mountain biking and fishing in the warmer months and skiing fom July to September. There is trout fishing in the numerous rivers and creeks. See Spring and autumn are the best times to visit-not too hot or cold-and very pretty. We are willing to host if you wish to come in Autumn as it is difficult for us to travel at that time because of involvement with Bright's annual Art Show
