About our home

Made for outdoor living in sub tropical climate with wide covered verandah and unroofed deck area and herb garden off kitchen , backing on to a lighthouse reserve/woodland with many bird species, wallabies, echidnas, goannas and yes, snakes but not often. Sunny enclosed front verandah for winter afternoon sleeps and extra guest beds. Comfortably worn around the edges (floor could do with a re-sanding and window ledges a lick of estapol) but all necessary white goods and mod cons. Dog friendly fences to keep the wildlife safe.

More about us

  1. Liz owns the house and shares with a colleague David. Both are travel writers, over 60 and silly about the household dogs which they would want to take with them to any house they agree to share on a swap basis.

Where is it?

Island community of around 700 permanent residents, mildy eccentric, very environmentally aware and a range from mega wealthy to strugglers, writers, artists and retirees with big community spirit in groups such as bushcare, local singers, walking groups and surf tragics of all ages. Many visitors to the island, day trippers in winter for whalewatching and holidaymakers in school holidays.
