About our home

Ours is a recently renovated, beautiful family home on first floor. Light filled house, big windows with fans for summer and a gas heater for cooler months. Very easy house to live in, with front and back patios, for the afternoon breeze from the ocean. Kitchen has a gas cooktop and electric oven, stone benchtops, water purifier, coffee maker etc. Rainwater tank for drinking water, small vegie garden for herbs. Carpet in lounge and bedrooms, tiled in kitchen, bathrooms and hall. TV, DVD player, high speed internet connection, comfy lounge. Main bedroom has kingsize bed plus ensuite, two other bedrooms have double beds and one single bedroom. Laundry has washing machine, dryer and iron. House is private from the street as there are many palms and trees in front garden and we have rear lane access also. We have two pushbikes for use.

Brunswick Heads is a small village at the mouth of the Brunswick River which meets the Pacific Ocean. Our house is a walk or pushbike ride away from the ocean and cafes/restaurants, baker, shops and river. There is a small harbour with fishing boats and co-op. The area is flat, great for relaxed cycling, there is also a gym, heated pool and squash courts in the next street. 'Simple Pleasures' describes the village, where people fish, swim, walk, have coffee and take in the beautiful natural surrounds. Byron Bay is a 15 minute drive away for a faster paced experience. Many shops, international visitors, restaurants, live entertainment, movies, beaches where you can learn to surf, parachute, dive, snorkel, meditate, do yoga classes, tai chi, reiki, massage the list is endless. Monthly markets in all the major towns are a must see as are the beautiful national parks of the Caldera and ranges where you can experience the beauty of the sub-tropical forests bushwalks.

We are a family with three children, 4,16 & 18. However we will only be three when we are travelling as the eldest 2 have left home. My husband is a professional, 51 and speaks Spanish and I am 45 and a respite worker with elderly people. We have been dreaming of this trip for years now and as our youngest is a good age (before school) to travel, now is the time.
