“Peta's beach house in Bundeena is a tranquil, luxurious paradise! The property is huge, so much space that you never feel on top of one another - including room for the kids to run around - and with a very spacious separate wing downstairs with its own bathroom and outside terrace where my mother stayed. The whole place has been designed and decorated to a very impressive standard - with gorgeous linen, pictures, sofas. Even the kids room with bunk beds is a parents dream - with a TV there if you need some quiet time! Everything has been prepared for entertaining and comfort - top notch kitchen appliances, huge dining tables inside and out, oils and spices and coffee, and some useful cook books! We were a family of five, with two small children arriving straight from London, and throughout the whole process earlier from London and whilst in Bundeena, Peta was always so helpful, trusting and friendly, replying quickly - and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. Bundeena itself is a perfect quiet beach holiday for couples or families. One word of advice for anybody lucky enough to stay in Peta's house, would be to go stocked up on food. There is one small local supermarket very nearby which is very convenient for the basics, and a couple of cafes which close at 3pm, but not a huge amount to choose from and no takeaway options. We really loved our stay, felt comfortable and spoilt, and it was the perfect tonic to recover and catch our breath after a 24 hour flight. ”

The Royal National Park
This historic national park is Australia's oldest and is National Heritage Listed and is easily accessible by car or the ferry from Cronulla to Bundeena. With more than 100 km of walking trails for you to enjoy, take in the magnificent cliff-top views from the 26 km Coast Track or you can take the Forest Island loop walk through cool valleys thick with rainforest.
Just an hour’s drive from the centre of Sydney, Bundeena is a pretty seaside village, just across the Port Hacking River from Cronulla, Sydney's southernmost beach. Bundeena is surrounded by water – the Port Hacking River and beaches such as wide-open Jibbon or broad sand flats at nearby Maianbar, and the ideal spot for a day trip.
Bundeena's idyllic waters are perfect for fishing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Enjoy an easy bushwalk along the scenic trails in Royal National Park, bordering Bundeena. The park is blessed with a handful of lovely beaches backed by bushland. Wattamolla, Garie and Burning Palms are amongst the most beautiful beaches in Australia.
Sydney Coast Walks can guide your hiking and camping adventures through the national park while Bundeena Kayaks offer guided or unguided tours by kayak or stand up paddleboard, and you can learn to kayak. You can also hike to the tip of the spectacular Jibbon Headland, with views of the sparkling blue waters and sandstone cliffs below. Aboriginal rock engravings made by Dharawal people, can also be found here.
Catch the ferry from Cronulla on the first Sunday of the month to discover the local art trail, when local artists and artisans open their studio doors to the public for a rare glimpse into their working lives and creative journeys. There are more than 20 artists waiting to welcome you into their studios for a look inside the creative process. Artworks on show and for sale include paintings, drawings, printmaking, wood carving, decorative and functional pottery, glassware and jewellery.
