Nearby Tallow Beach is a gem, walk north to Cape Byron and the Byron Bay Lighthouse, or walk south to Broken Head beach and Nature Reserve. It's a stunning beach, a famous stretch for surfers with great waves all along this beach. By the beach public BBQ facilities located 2 minutes walk away also.
Our house has been recently renovated, 4 months of living out of the hallway! but so worth it in the end. We all feel so blessed to live here and are happy to share that with like minded families and groups.
As you may know, Byron and surrounds was primarily built in the 70's and 80's, and you can tell most places have not been renovated or have been poorly renovated. Sure, you are going to spend a lot of time outdoors, but do you want to come home to a little slice of the 80s? Probably not. So don't spend the similar money to stay in an old outdated house. Ours is an architect designed renovation and it shows. Beautiful interior and top of the line everything!
You will find the kitchen well stocked compared to most holiday rentals. Things that many other places forget, like a wine opener, can opener, potato peeler, chopsticks, steak knives, assorted baking gear, decent chef knives, multiple cutting boards, strainers, and various other kitchen utensils are included for those that want to use the kitchen. Plus a toaster, tea kettle, coffee maker, rice cooker, and blender!
Enjoy filtered, cold, clean water anytime from the fridge door, so you can enjoy filtered water without buying bottles. The water out of the fridge tastes great. Plus, it also makes ice cubes with that filtered water, very convenient, just press on the lever and they are right there.
Beach Gear: As we are about 1 minute from one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, we tend to go to the beach every day in summer. So as you can imagine our house has loads of beach gear you are free to use. This includes 4 beach chairs, a big umbrella, a big cooler with rolling wheels to take to the beach, snorkels, masks, and fins, a beach blanket, and as I mentioned earlier beach towels for everyone! Theres also some surfboards (short boards and longboards) if you want to try your hand at the waves out the front. All you need to bring is your cozzie (swimsuit for you non-aussies), thongs (flip flops), and sunscreen to be all set.
Our house is across the road from a bus stop so public transportation, should you decide to go that way, is a viable option! Having said that we are located by the beach 5km south of Byron Bay so if you plan on spending a lot of time in Byron then a car is recommended.
