“Staying in the Adelaide Hills is a great way to enjoy Australia and even Adelaide itself, and this property was great for us. In less than half an hour you can be in the city area, but you are actually staying in a location that feels remote and totally private. It is an old style South Australian stone home with a more modern extension at the back where the magnificent views are the stars of the property. The orchard drops down in front of you (kangaroos came passing through one early morning). A walk down to the little river and then along several paths is very pleasant. The Adelaide Hills are alive with a growing diversity of produce and is famous as a foodie haven. Wineries are plentiful and craft beers and old-made-new-again funky pubs are in many of the little towns. Food is innovative and great quality. The hosts recommendations were welcome and spot on. But the best place for food is at home on the terrace, either using the BBQ or outdoor pizza oven. Shops are not nearby so you do have to bring along provisions, but I suspect timing your arrival on a weekend and searching for local weekend markets would be even better. Highly recommended.”
