The Sunshine Coast lies approximately 90kms north of the state capital Brisbane and its international airport.
The Sunshine Coast has a population of around 350,000. It extenda 60 kms north to south where almost all residents live and includes a number of small hinterland towns and villages. Thus each area has its own character and is not just one large city.
We are located in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast with its fabulous sandy beaches and blue waters only a short 15 minute drive away The hinterland tourist villages of Montville and Maleny with their local hand made crafts are a 5 to 10 minute drive away
Other local attractions include Eumundi Markets, the world famous Australia Zoo 30 minutes drive away, Underwater world 15 mins, the Glasshouse Mountains 30 mins, Noosa 30 mins and numerous little hinterland towns and villages close by.
Whale-watching is popular mid year. There is plenty of fishing both surf and deep sea and if you are a little more adventurous the world heritage listed Fraser Island is approximately 1.5 hours away, you can either hire a 4x4 fully kitted for camping or take an organised tour, either way its not to be missed.
We are also ideally situated for touring with our more famous and glitzier big cousin the Gold Coast, with its theme park attractions and shopping approximately 200 Kim's and 2 hours drive away. If you are a nature lover and have the time then the Gold Coast hinterland and O'Rielleys/Lamington National Park a must.
Our climate is very kind with warm summer days and a mild winter.
Due to our location and lack of nearby public transport we are open to car exchange as well.

Something about ourselves:
We are Mark and Kate, a married couple both working for the Queensland Ambulance. Mark also serving in the Australian army and Queensland Police Force.
We are keen outdoors people with a spirit of adventure and love to hike, camp and 4x4. Travel and the opportunity to broaden our horizons and experience new culture is a burning desire, and home exchange is the perfect medium which makes travelling a tangible reality and not an elusive and expensive dream.
We have already participated in one home exchange which was a huge success and are eager to repeat the experience. Due to Down Under being so geographically removed from the rest of the world and the cost of travel we would ideally like to exchange for several weeks. Our home is reasonably large and we both enjoy hosting foreign guests so a non simultaneous exchange would be welcome.
