About our home

We have loved this house since we first saw it three years ago, and living here is an absolute treat. Although we have ocean glimpses, my favourite part about our home is that we are surrounded by green tree tops - it's especially lovely to see the gum trees swaying in the breeze when lying in bed.

Our home is of the homely variety. It's around 25 years old, very solid and comfortable. The aspect is gorgeous and as a result we spend a lot of time in our yards. The backyard contains a 'bespoke' cubby house that hubby built almost entirely from recycled materials and the patio catches the breeze (known locally as The Freo Doctor) most afternoons. The front yard faces west, so it's a great place to watch the sun set while the kids play on the trampoline.

We've got aspirations of growing most of our fruit, so you'll find blueberries, mulberries, strawberries, passionfruit, lemons, grapes and the like throughout our yards - just depends what's in season when you're here :)

The neighbourhood is a family one and full of kids. We live two doors down from a great park, which is next to the local primary school and kindy. Parks are everywhere around here - there are at least a dozen within 2kms walk. It's 700m downhill to the river, which has a sandy bottom so it's like swimming at the beach without the waves.

More about us

  1. We're a family of four (Mum, Dad, big sister, little brother)

  2. Adam and Lacey are both process engineers. Adam now works in management and Lacey teaches financial literacy.

  3. We love to travel, but haven't done much since having the kids. Looking forward to changing that!

Where is it?

East Fremantle is an established family suburb, so lots of big trees, playgrounds and lovely walks. It's also slightly unusual in Perth in that it's quite hilly - the rest of Perth feels quite flat in comparison. If there's a breeze, we'll get it - so it tends to be a few degrees cooler than the official Perth city temperature reported on the Bureau of Meteorology. There's a bus about 250m from our door that takes you into Freo or the city, and it's a short drive to North Fremantle or Fremantle train stations.
