About our home

My husband and I are retired professionals, early 60's and live in Perth Western Australia. We are really interested in a house swap for 4-6 months with someone from Cape Town. We love the Cape (husband born there) and we have visited every year for the past 4 years but would like to spend a longer time there. We are keen to start soon so perhaps Autumn to spring is best. We have a lovely 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in a small block of 10 near the Swan River on the edge of Perth City. (One bedroom will be needed to store our personal effects). The complex is very secure and private. The surrounding area is beautiful for walks around and even into the city. Although in the city, its surprisingly quiet and green with walks, cycling, kayaking and other river activities. We have restaurants nearby, but not on our doorstep, and it takes only 15 minutes to get into the city using you can a free CAT bus.
Our apartment is light and spacious with White Plantation Shutters throughout. We have a combined Kitchen/Dining/living area which has recently been renovated and all our appliances are new. I love to cook so have lots of baking equipment and a double oven. The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom. A minor bedrooms is set up with a double bed and TV. The master bathroom has a bathtub and shower and also a separate toilet. We have a laundry with washing machine and dryer, which is also used as a scullery. We have a study/den for my husband in a loft area over the Living Room which he retreats to when he wants to work, so he says. This is equipped with a computer and separate TV plus lots & lots of books!!!!! We have a small balcony area which is great for BBQs - it is east facing so gets the morning sun but not the evening sun (important in Perth!) The apartment is air conditioned and we also have ceiling fans in the bedrooms.
We are on the first floor of the apartment building (there are 10 apartments) and have undercover parking for 2 car bays. There is no elevator in the complex but we have never found this a problem.
