This is an older style setup: “rustic charm” – a bit eccentric, relaxed and comfortable but not chic or posh! Downstairs bedroom with queen bed, ensuite shower and toilet and access to second bedroom (double bed) which opens onto back deck (see photos). Upstairs big open room with queen bed and foldout double bed sofa plus shower and toilet and rudimentary kitchenette.
We have a toddler (small playpen type) bed and a fold up single plus camp bed available if necessary.
Garage roof provides an extra sitting space with view of trees and sky.
Bookworms delight – many books to feast on! Access to garden to enjoy plants, birdlife, veging out, playing badminton….whatever! About 5 mins walk west down to Lake and Recky Club. 5 mins walk east to Elizabeth Beach and littoral rainforest. Boot Booti National park nearby - 5 mins walk.
Access through front or back door of house but regret no wheelchair access. The guided tour in our photos shows the way via the front door. The back steps up to the deck allow you access without going through the main living area. Although there are two rooms (queen and double beds) with shower/toilet between, the two rooms are only let to the one group so that exclusive use of shower/toilet is assured.
as the layout of this place allows.
There are plenty of places to dine out (Recky club, KingFisher etc) but as some guests arrive late and places around here tend to shut early, the dinner option at home might suit you.
Good place to launch daily expeditions to interesting areas and activities!
Beautiful scenic area right next to Booti Booti National Park. You can walk to Lizzie Beach through one of remaining pockets of littoral rainforest - 5 minutes of silence except for a few birds and distant waves. Cellito Beach about 15 minutes drive south has a similar littoral rainforest with interesting signs about the species along the boardwalk to the beach. Lots of birds and other critters in the area - lizards, wallabies, dingoes, who knows wot? - good bushwalking, swimming, surfing, boating and eating places around within 5 minutes drive.
Elizabeth is a good bathing beach and it is patrolled in summer. Beaches to the south include Shelley (clothes optional - 10 minute walk through beaut bush to sheltered beach with good snorkelling and swimming), Boomerang and Blueys which are good surfing and walking beaches, swimmable at times. Surrounded by Booti Booti National Park with interesting walks from easy to challenging!
You wanna relax!!?? Try the amazing Remedial Massage and Bowen Therapy half a minute walk down Hillside Parade from our place. Leah is the BEST and has her own treatment room.
Recky Club 5 minutes walk away on lake with one of the best views In The World AND great food and drink and usually $10 specials Mon - Thurs nights . Two gas/petrol stations with takeaways and minimart just minutes away. Boat ramps nearby - 2 mins drive away plus lake and beach fishing. If no fish bite there is an excellent seafood shop nearby. Surfing, swimming, boating, eating all within 10 minutes or less.
Council area was Great Lakes (now Midcoast...) and local neighbourhood is called Pacific Palms. Community markets one block from our house last Sunday of the month from 9-1. North from here along the Lakes Way are surfing beaches eg 7 Mile beach, Santa Barbara, the Ruins campsite, access to the lake at Sailing Club and elsewhere. Clear sandy water for paddling - it's often less than 18" deep. Forster is the nearest 'metropolis' 15 minutes away with Stockland Mall - Woollies, Coles, various shops and cafes plus Sushi Train and other specialities! Bunnings and KMart, Aldi and banks too. You MUST go across the bridge to Tuncurry - some of the most gorgeous coloured water ever and often sporting dolphins gallivanting. Whales out to sea during their travel season from about May to September/October, especially off Seal Rocks (about 20 minutes drive from here. It's another spectacular place, beaches, blowhole and lighthouse). So much to see and do we haven't covered it all ...but YOU can - if you have time!
Driving is your best option. Public transport is limited. You can get here from north or south via Busways which goes through Elizabeth Beach about 8 and 10 am (going south) and goes north at about 5.30 pm. We can pick you up from the nearest bus stop or from Blueys shops which is probably better. Check with or if coming by train from Sydney or Taree and then bus call Countrylink (or whatever they're called today!) 13 22 32
