About our home

My cute little cottage is set in the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland, surrounded by rolling green hills and some of Australia's best beaches. Situated just 7 minutes drive from the iconic village of Newrybar, where you'll be able to enjoy beautiful gourmet food at the renowned Harvest 'farm to table' restaurant, or mosey on through the boutiques next door, or enjoy a freshly brewed coffee and pastry made onsite at the Harvest deli. The quaint little town of Bangalow is only ten minutes away by car and you'll enjoy more of the area's amazing food and shopping. But if it's stretches of white sandy beaches that you're after - look no further than the coast where you'll reach the closest beach at Broken Head in just 19 minutes, or travel onto the famous Byron Bay and choose from any number of amazing beaches to surf, stand up paddle board or kayak with dolphins and sea turtles. If swimming isn't your thing, there are plenty of beautiful coastal tracks to stretch your legs along, and fantastic dining and shopping in the heart of town. The immediate area is renowned for it's many "farm to table" food providores and restaurants, serving up some of Australia's best food and wine, so be sure to go for a long drive and discover the surrounding hinterland towns where you will find all sorts of hidden gems. There's also a weekly farmers market that you can visit at any one of the surrounding towns, so fresh and typically organic food, will be aplenty! Swim in crystal clear waters and walk on white sandy beaches and watch the sun set with a beach picnic - just 20 minutes from your doorstep - or laze in the hammock on my balcony and listen to the sound of the birds and cicadas. This truely is a tranquil and relaxing retreat, best suited to solo travellers, or a couple with a baby. As you'll see from the photos, the property is rustic but extremely comfortable and decked out with beautiful linen and of course the indoor / outdoor tub you can soak in at the end of a lazy day.

Where is it?

Buzzy restaurants
So many to choose from in nearby Byron Bay, my favorites - Mez, Balcony, Pacific Dining Room, Rae's for something extra special, or just up the road - Harvest is a must! They also serve great coffee. Paper Daisy at Kingscliff is a 45 minute drive and well worth the trip for something special and incredible food!
Cool bars
Byron Bay - Mez; St Elmo's; Balcony; Rae's for something really flash!
Cozy cafés
Harvest cafe, Wood cafe in nearby town - Bangalow; Plenty to choose from in Byron Bay or visit the Belle General in East Ballina across from the beach
Retail therapy
Byron Bay and Bangalow offer fantastic shopping with both local designers and unique boutiques - Byron is also home to the famous 'Spell Designs'!
Walks in the park
We're surrounded with both local walks in the countryside, or drive to Mt Warning if you're up for a climbing challenge! Otherwise there are so many beach walks to choose from - my favorite being the Byron Bay lighthouse coastal track - I recommend at least one sun rise visit. I also recommend a visit to nearby Minyan Falls
Spot of exercise
Choose from Stand up paddle boarding; kayaking with the dolphins in Byron Bay, long beach walks or running through the surrounding countryside.
Day tripping
So many amazing places to visit within a 200km radius! I'm surrounded by gorgeous hinterland towns, from Mullumbimby to Byron Bay, Cabarita and Kingscliff to Yamba.
