Our gorgeous new two-bedroom apartment is right in the heart of Perth's waterfront precinct of Fremantle – or Freo, as we call it. You will be just a short walk from countless artsy cafes, bars and restaurants and amongst the charm of curving, colonial-era streets. The home is just minutes from Freo's iconic Market and fisherman's boat harbour and just as close to the charming Fremantle train station. We think Fremantle is the best place in Australia to live: it is filled with a sense of community and we can walk barefoot to the beach from our home, follow our morning swim with coffee at one one of the many cafes nearby and stroll around the corner to shop locally at the old-style greengrocer's and Frank's butcher shop. We enjoy being surrounded by passionate people who love to live amongst the busking, street art and alfresco dining that Freo is renowned for.
The apartment could hardly be better located but it feels quiet and private - thanks in part to some serious insulation in the building materials but also because it is tucked away behind a secure automatic security gate. We think you will find that the home has everything you need for a cosy stay.
“We were lucky enough to be Mignon's first swap. Her apartment is stunning, very well appointed and in a great location. The place was spotless and the bed was so comfortable I actually took note of the mattress brand! Mignon was very attentive and responsive. Some minor teething issues with the WiFi but other than that a perfect stay! Thankyou Mignon.. we would happily stay again:)”
I'm a lecturer at the nearby University in Fremantle. I live in the same building as the apartment. I built the home recently to fit in with the warehouse/industrial style of Freo.
I have two adult children and love to travel.

We are located in the heart of fabulous Freo tucked away down a quiet little laneway: Whisper quiet but amongst all the action. Your time here will be set against the backdrop of the best preserved 19th century port streetscape in the world. Fremantle is an eclectic and eccentric blend of fabulous artisanal food, handcrafted beers, great coffee, quirky boutiques and it has a lively music, arts and festival scene AND fabulous beaches. It's the best the West has to offer and it's not surprising the Lonely Planet named it among the top places in the world to visit. This is how Lonely Planet describe Freo:
Under the baking WA sun, Fremantle is a boho harbour town with sea-salty soul to burn. Like Valparaiso in Chile or Littleton in New Zealand, old-town ‘Freo’ is a tight nest of streets with an atmospherically faded cache of Victorian and Edwardian buildings. And like any port, the world washes in on the tide and washes out again, leaving the locals buzzing with global zeitgeist. Fremantle thrums with live music, craft-beer bars, boutique hotels, left-field bookshops, Indian Ocean seafood shacks, buskers and beaches – it's a fabulous place to spend a few days.
