About our home

Our detached 3 bedroom, brick home is situated in a new area, The Estuary Estate, in Leopold. Victoria. We are situated 10 minutes drive from Geelong, 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches and townships of the Bellarine Peninsula which is well known for its swimming options, indoor pool,surf beaches, wineries, eateries and picturesque river. The famous Great Ocean Road is one of the regions most well known tourist attractions, the world renowned Bells Beach and the stunning Otways National park are all pleasant drive from Geelong. We are also just over an hour from Melbourne, with a direct drive along the Princes Highway or by single train journey from Geelong. Tullamarine Airport , being approx 1 ½ hours drive, is Melbourne’s major international airport . Avalon airport in situated just outside Geelong, approx 40 minutes drive and provides domestic flight and daily flights to Asia. Our home is nearly a year old, filled with comfortable furniture and homely features. There are two living areas. The house overlooks a large parkland area and is at the top of a gentle rise. The front lounge enjoys a panoramic view of Geelong, glimpses of Lake Connewarre and wonderful sunsets. There are three bedrooms. The main one having an ensuite ans separate toilet, large windows fancing the garden and glass sliding doors leading out to the alfresco area and back garden. One of the other bedrooms has a window seat and the same lovely view from the front of the house. All bedrooms are on the south side of the house, providing comfortably cool sleeping conditions. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. There is a study, which we call “the snug”. It is a combination of study/ office and grandchildren’s play area. It has distinct, fun decor including British wall paper and decorations. The kitchen /dining area has all the features of a practical and user friendly area; walk in pantry, dishwasher, microwave/ convection oven, large electric cooker, 5 ring gas hob,large fridge freezer with plumbed water/ ice machine. There are also a variety of electrical kitchen appliances, stone bench tops and double sink. This zone of the house in enhanced with lovely light ash furniture and interesting artworks. The main living area over looks the back garden. The whole house is double glazed and has central heating and reverse cycle aircon. The dining area has sliding doors that open to a roofed alfresco area with timber decking and outdoor dining table and benches. The alfresco area also has ceiling fans. The sunny garden is low maintenance with a variety of native plants, a grassed area and an informal area that includes young shrubs and a raised vegetable bed. This just needs the occasional watering during extended dry periods, winter or summer. There is a large double garage with access to the laundry room and garden. My husband and I live here and are visited by two grandchildren every couple of weeks. Although this house is new, most visitors feel this definitely has a homely feel. There is a local small shopping centre which has a large supermarket, newsagent, travel agent, butcher, coffee house, chemist, gift shop, optician, medical clinic and bank. .
