“If you’ve ever imagined yourself enjoying the fruits of life on a desert island, then you’ve probably seen this place in your dreams... Sea, endless unspoiled white sands, palm trees, even a hammock - they’re all there for real on Machan’s Beach. This beautifully-designed property - on the aptly-named Cinderella Street - with three good bedrooms, modern kitchen, multiple lounging areas, lovely decent-sized pool, two decks and all modern amenities, including excellent wifi, and some really stunning artwork, backs right on to the beach. Though just a 20-minute drive from Cairns CBD, and 10-minutes from the airport, Machan’s Beach is a quiet residential haven, served by just one shop, one cafe and one bar. The beach is perfect for walking, running, or simply watching the sun go down. You’ll have it to yourself most of the time. Swimming, however, isn’t advisable - due to the proximity of the river, the water can be quite muddy... and then there’s the crocodile warning signs... Deb is a real estate professional, and a fantastic host. You’ll want for nothing. Highly recommended. ”
Deb's reviewsAs a host (2)
“Deb's property in Machans Beach exceeded all our expectations. You have the Pacific Ocean out the back door, well once you walk past your very own pool. We found it difficult to extricate ourselves from the property and to venture out to see all the wonders that the area has to offer, as the property is so lovely. Deb has a flair for design and decoration which is evidenced by the cleverly chosen décor of the home. Our kids loved the pool and we enjoyed relaxing in the upstairs living area watching the boats cruise out at sea. We could not say enough good things about Deb's place and we are truly thankful to have enjoyed some time there.”
Where is it?
Although only 10 minutes from Cairns CBD, Machans Beach is a small eclectic mix of homes with a village, "non touristy" vibe.
It is made up of original "fishing cottages" right through to spacious luxury waterfront homes. No two homes are the same and there is a relaxed community feel.
There is a local convenience store incorporating a Post Office and fuel station, a great coffee shop open for breakfasts and lunches plus take aways and the local waterfront bar/bistro restaurant, "O'Sheas", where you can enjoy a drink, tapas or a full meal overlooking the waterfront. The local
bus service to Cairns and Northern beaches operates daily.
