About our home

Country cottage in beautiful Mornington Peninsula nestled between wineries and farm shops. The cottage, built by a local artist and modelled on Captain Cook's Cottage, is set on 2.5 acres of land with beautiful gardens, park like open spaces, veggie patches, an orchard, a chook house and a barn. The gardens are filled with wildlife with many species of birds and local parrots and we even get the odd eagle, hawk and owl. Occasionally a kangaroo, koala or echidna will wander in to say g'day.
The house comprises of two living rooms, a large dining kitchen with Falcon oven, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, an ensuite, a toilet and a laundry. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the other has full sized bunkbeds. Both living rooms have wood burning heaters and there is reverse cycle airconditioning/ heating.
The garden is a children's paradise with a gorgeous cubby house with slides, a couple of swings, a climbing frame and a trampoline as well as a pool table/ table tennis in the barn.
The Mornington Peninsula is one of the loveliest parts of Australia with rolling green hills covered in forrest, farms, orchards and wineries with sea views. With the wineries comes excellent cafes and restaurants (as well as wine of course!). There are several beautiful beaches 10-15 minutes away, many with seaside towns with buzzing cafes and quality restaurants. The nearest small town is 5 minutes drive. Melbourne City Centre is just over an hours drive away.
For the active amongst you the peninsula has abundant walks, bike and horse trails and golf courses. The beaches, sea and bay bring the opportunity to do all kinds of water sports including surfing.
