About our home

Our award winning architecturally designed home is situated a few minutes drive from the centre of Margaret River in a remnant Karri forest. It's a short distance to world class wineries, boutique breweries, restaurants and great many bays and surf beaches. The home itself is spacious and luxurious with attention to detail, especially notable is the award winning innovative use of plywood throughout. It is passive solar with louvers to catch the afternoon breeze coming off the ocean, but reverse-cycle air conditioners are available if required. The large fully equipped kitchen (including a Cimbali coffee machine) and dining/lounge are open spaces which look out onto the featured Karri tree which the house is built around. The two bedrooms are in a different area of the one level house, where there is a separate small lounge to retreat to with its own library and TV/DVDs. Each bedroom has a queen bed with super comfortable memory foam mattress and pillows, plus quality linen. The main lounge room has a smart TV with Netflix. The bathroom is luxurious with a deep bath, heated towel rail and quality fittings. A beautiful outdoor cooking area with a charcoal BBQ, electric hotplate and pizza oven is linked to the house with local limestone paths to the main deck. We're developing a shady garden featuring native Australian plants and attracting a lot of birds. It's a good idea to hire a car from Perth so that you can take full advantage of all the region has to offer.

More about us

  1. We are a retired couple with a 35 year old daughter working in Vancouver. We'd love to be near her for a week or so, and then take a cruise up the west coast to Alaska. . We are very respectful of our own property and feel the same commitment to others.

  2. We had careers in teaching and telephone technology, but now we both work from home, Wendy runs a Bed and Breakfast, and Roger works in IT.

  3. We love art, architecture and gardening and our home reflects this passion.
