Our huge 400sqm renovated 1887 house is a Melbourne and St Kilda surprise. Up to 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 living spaces, lush private garden, gourmet kitchen, stroll to Acland St, St Kilda beach, trams to the city. The house is huge and is bright, light and airy with heaps of space for up to 11 people to enjoy.

In particular, we do not generally swap at peak times (Christmas/New Year, Australian Open, Melbourne Grand Prix, Easter, Melbourne Cup, etc). If you would like to do a classic swap (rather than a points stay), the time needs to be like-for-like (for example, our summer for your summer and please note: we don't like Northern Hemisphere winters).
Our five-bedroom house is truly beautiful and in a stunning location. This is one of the best spots in beachside St Kilda. You won't need a car (though we have off-street parking for two cars if you do drive). Acland Street is 2-3 minutes walk and the beach about 1km away, Fitzroy Street and Carlisle Street are an easy walk. There are close to 100 cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. The St Kilda Botanic Gardens are at our back door and trams to the city (no.96 and 16) within minutes.
The house has everything you will need for a short or long term stay. Naturally, there is wifi.
Our guests have loved the house's size, the "wow" factor when entering for the first time and the surprisingly peaceful and luxuriously large rear garden.
The house sleeps up to 11 people in five bedrooms plus study (two king bedrooms, both with ensuite; two queen bedrooms; one twin room).
We have are four living areas: formal lounge, main living room, kitchen/dining with lounges and a large undercover outdoor area with outdoor lounges and an undercover dining table.
The cook's kitchen has everything you need including two large fridges. We also have three dining areas: informal dining in the kitchen; formal dining room (seats up to 12 - or more by request); and outside dining (seating for up to 16 outside).
The back garden was designed by a renowned Melbourne landscape architect and features lots of lovely garden rooms. It is huge and a big surprise. Includes outdoor lounges, dining areas, gas BBQ (on mains gas so you will never run out), and a large fish pond.
We have a manager and cleaner, therefore all stays (points or traditional swaps) will require a payment of $250 for cleaning and laundry costs.
AVAILABILITY: We are expats living in France, so we do rent out our Melbourne house when we can. I try to keep the calendar up to date, but dates for swaps will always be subject to availability. Rentals are available at all times. Given our situation, we can usually only do non-simultaneous swaps.
