About our home

My house is in a vibrant yet very quiet area close to the city. It is a contemporary house, One of its greatest features is the light, bright openness of the house. It has 2 bedrooms and an additional living room with Murphy bed, each with their own bathroom (3 bathrooms). The main bathroom off the main bedroom has a bath. The housing designer won an award for the house, due to its simple style and the wonderful winter and summer light. BBQ's on the balcony all year round are fantastic.
I love to cook so the kitchen is a "Cook's Kitchen" perfect to prepare meals with a glass of wine inhand whilst being part of what's going on in the house.
There is secure parking off a lane way at the rear of the house. The house has everything you need to be off exploring all day and return to a warm, inviting house. I have bikes and at the end of the street there is a cycleway for a beautiful ride around the river, or 10mins ride to the city.
The house is perfect for two couples as each bedroom has an ensuite. It would also suit a family.
Location wise it is close to everything. 20ish min walk to the city, (7 mins by bus) 20 min drive to the beach, with lots of parks close by.
It is very near an area of shops with cafes, bars and restaurants.

“We loved staying in Jenny's house. Jenny's house is very comfortable with all needed modern equipment. Our family of 4 fitted very well in the house finding room for everybody. We relied on the nearby shops and restaurants - all at walking distance. We highly recommend the nice Indian restaurant that is 100m away. The house location is perfect for tourism in the Perth area - we decided to use the bus at the door step for our touristic activities in the Perth area, and this was extremely convenient. Jenny was very welcoming and helped us all along, when preparing our visit and during our stay. French people think Perth is one of the most sympathetic city in the world, and we are sure this is thanks to nice persons like Jenny ! We highly recommend Jenny's house at Highgate ! Pat and Seb.”

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
The house is in an area (Mount Lawley) that is seen as one of the great places to live close to the city of Perth. It is a half hour walk to the city or very short bus ride, or easy bike ride. Within 100 metres of the house there are great bars, a child friendly pub, restaurants, cafes, food stores and a supermarket. There are two Indian, an Italian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Pizza, Thai restaurants (including takeout) very close to the house. It is lively down "Beaufort Street" every night but once you turn the corner (50m away)you are in a quiet, suburban street. Its a 15 minute walk to China town to sample the great Asian cuisine on offer in Perth.
Hyde Park is the most gorgeous park for picnics or bbq's (they provide bbqs in Aus). In autumn the falling leaves are a beautiful sight. In spring the baby swans on the lake are a must see.
There's a comedy club down the road if you are interested in checking out Australian humour. Art Gallery and Museum are 15 minute walk away.
Mount Lawley is 20 min drive from the nearest beach. I have travelled the world and its true the best beaches are in my home city. Watching the sun set over the Indian ocean at the beach with a picnic is something special.
One of my businesses is running walking food tours. Research has determined the cultural diversity of food in Perth is fantastic....and a large portion of places within walking distance of the house. We welcome you as our guests on one of our tours whilst you are in Perth. There is a park with play equipment for children 200 metres from the house, and great coffee close by.
