About our home

We live near the best beach in north Queensland, Etty Bay. Imagine swinging in your hammock under the trees on the beach?? We are teachers and I am an artist. Our home is a split level, tropical, timber pole home, sleeping 8 on acreage. Our area is near the beautiful Great Barrier Reef, rainforest, diving, golf, swimming, hiking, shopping, many tourist activities to enjoy (crocodile park, waterfalls, canopy walk, museum, gallery historical walks etc).
We have chickens and guinea pigs to play with, ideal for children. Wallabies & Cassowaries wander too!, not to mention the many birds that sing in our garden.
We are non smokers and experienced exchangers who will look after your home and can offer a car exchange also. Come visit the tropics and swim in cool waterholes, bungy jump or sky dive onto the beach or just laze at the cafe and enjoy an ice cream!
It's all here at Etty Bay in the far north of Queensland south of Cairns & its airport..

Etty Bay is a small beach community 3 mins away with great coffee and essential shopping, but it is only minutes away from Innisfail, a lively Art Deco town sitting astride two gorgeous rivers, ideal for rowing, fishing or boating: there you will find restaurants, supermarkets, banking, onboard cafes and great walks along the river. Cairns tourist centre is 1 hr away to the north, to the West is the Atherton Tableland where you can see the platypus fig trees and crater lakes, and south is Mission Beach another glorious beach area to visit. Something for everyone including the children.

We are 4 teachers Yvonne & Jurgen/ Geoff & Theresa with our 2 teenagers. Callum ,18 has just finished an exchange in Italy and Jasmine, 15, is just about to enter Senior high school.
We love to travel and have been friends for ever! We would love to see Barcelona for Christmas. I am also an artist and enjoy natural beauty and the culture of other countries.
Jurgen loves cycling & rowing, Geoff teaches legal studies and Theresa is a great counseler. Between us we speak German well, some French and Italian.
We have travelled widely and respect others homes as they have ours. We admire the philosophy of home exchanging and have made some wonderful friends through it!
