About our home

I have a lovely house in the pretty, vibrant NSW town of Mudgee. Population about 10,000 although most of that number live outside town in rural properties.
Sadly, the beautiful local station remains closed but you can get here easily by coach from Sydney, train to nearest towns of Lithgow or Bathurst, or fly in 40 minutes direct from Domestic Terminal, Sydney Airport. If you're driving - once outside Sydney and the Blue Mountains area it's a beautiful scenic journey. Plenty of parking on site and I do have a small manual car that could be made available.
Whilst the town is set amongst expansive Australian countryside, it is not remote. That means you can have the best of both worlds. You can access rural areas within minutes, and because the house is only a short walk to the main can enjoy all that offers too.
This town is a well-known quality food and wine destination and various festivals are held here throughout the year attracting people from far and wide. Everything you could want is catered for here.
There's a public swimming pool, many diverse restaurants, cafes, banks, gyms, wine bars, Drs, small hospital, chemists, public library, 3 supermarkets and numerous other interesting local businesses. There are also monthly movie weekends at the Town Hall and Farmers' Markets in town and other nearby locations.
Whilst the house is in town...walk to main street 5-10 minutes, you do not have the noise pollution of a bigger place, nor the isolation. This is a very safe, friendly community. Sit on the back patio with a book or glass or wine, stay inside/use the office, or step out and enjoy as much as you choose of the local amenities.

Could my place be part or all of a great Australian experience? Stay put or travel out from here, write that book, mix with the locals...enjoy all the local food and wine. This is a lovely place.

You can really see the stars in the night sky here. There's even a tiny observatory nearby!
