This cute house (The Beachouse) is right opposite the beach with no houses in front of you, just the sand dunes, once you walk through the front gate you are in a very private retreat taking up to 8 adults and there is still room for kids
The first level and entrance is through the veranda from the front yard, the bathroom, separate toilet and laundry are on this level, also 2 bedrooms, 1 has a king-size bed and the other has a double, stairs takes you up to the second level.
The second level has a separate dining area, followed by a galley kitchen and lounge room which goes out to the upstairs veranda which has an 8 seating outdoor furniture setting where you can enjoy the afternoons and evenings in a well protected and private setting with a Webber gas BBQ which almost cooks by itself. From this veranda there are glimpses through the trees to the ocean. This level also has 2 bedrooms one a double and the other has 2 single beds, there are 2 sofa beds also in the lounge room with plenty of windows and is light and airy.
There are comfortable furnishings throughout including TV, DVD, a stereo, Microwave, Washing Machine, Gas BBQ, and outdoor furniture. Cards, books and board games are also supplied just the thing for family bonding. This will suit families and couples looking for a relaxing beach and surfing holiday. The Beach is patrolled throughout the Christmas holidays.
We will swap our car which is a Toyota Hilux 4 X 4 dual cab automatic which seats 5 people.
The area is northern New South Wales, just on the Queensland boarder and the famous Gold Coast
South Golden Beach is just 5 minutes to Brunswick Heads with a great old Pub, shops and restaurants here you can organise fishing trips and just up the road is Oceans Shores Country club for a game of Golf and lunch. Byron Bay is 16 km south of here, Australias most eastern point. This area has Mount Warning nature reserve and is great for bush walking and hiking. You have a 30 minute drive from Gold Coast airport and 2 hours drive from Brisbane and Brisbane International Airport. Sydney is 800 Km south of our house.
The beach is beautiful and even in our Christmas summer holidays there is very few people on the beach, some mornings and evenings you can have the beach to yourself.
Our street only has 23 houses in it, so the area is quiet and relaxing but if you drive down to Byron Bay just 15 mins drive you are in the thick of a busy tourist area with Bars and night life for the young and young at heart.
We are Bruce and Christine and we have 3 children, Leanne 21, Holly 19 and Ian 15. We are semi retired, we love snow sking and boating, we live on the beach and want a holiday anywhere we can ski.
Next Christmas 2008 we plan a trip to Whistler with just the 2 of us
We are open to any exchange ideas anywhere.
