We offer a modern house overlooking the 7th green of the Joondalup Golf Course (a private course that is also open to the public). The two pictures of the golf course were taken from our terrace. The house is designed around the pool in such a way that one section consists of a self-contained sitting room, kitchen/dining room and double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The main section comprises sitting room, dining room, 2 double bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom and w/c), bathroom with spa bath and w/c, study, kitchen and laundry. Looking over the golf course there is a large terrace with outdoor sitting and dining facilities including a gas barbeque. It is not unusual to look from the terrace in the early morning and see kangaroos grazing on the fairway! Around the pool there is a covered patio area with outdoor lounge furniture. We are about 5 minutes by car from the Indian Ocean and one of Perth's lovely beaches. Perth is renowned for its sunny weather which enables us to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities all year long.
Our house is situated about 5 minutes by car from Joondalup- a major shopping and business hub for residents in Perth's northern suburbs. In the local area there are a number of good restaurants, cinemas, golf courses and beaches There is a good train service from Joondalup Station to Perth City (approx. 20/25 minutes) providing easy access to central Perth's shopping, art galleries, Swan River etc. The picturesque South West of WA with its vinyards, restaurants and craft galleries is a 3 hour drive away.

We are a recently retired couple, Tony and Elizabeth. Tony was an accountant and I was a teacher and education consultant. I now work on a casual basis in the School of Education at Murdoch University. We have 3 grown up children and 4 grand children. I have studied French for a number of years and now that I have the time I am keen to improve my language skills by spending time in France! Our hobbies include reading, gardening and of course, as our house adjoins a golfcourse, playing golf! We have not been involved in a home exchange before and are looking forward to this opportunity. We would like to get to know our exchange partners in advance so that we can ensure that they have the best possible stay in Western Australia. We came to Perth about 30 years ago from the UK so we certainly can vouch for the quality of the lifestyle.
