About our home

Classic beachside holiday house, for the perfect relaxing getaway! Sans souci beach house @ red rock is a well established holiday rental (and available for swaps) since 2006 where we provide almost everything you could want for your beachside stay.
Sans souci beach house @ red rock aims to capture the quintessential Aussie beachside experience. Remembering our own childhood holidays in sleepy coastal villages we have aimed to create a relaxing and welcoming beach house that provides for beachside action as well as relaxation.
The whole house is yours! You are welcome to use the bikes, canoe, kayak and all of the beach equipment as well as the books, movies and games. These are our cherished belongings and we hope that our guests enjoy sharing them with us, as well as looking after them as we do!
Red Rock is part of the Gumbayngirr Nation that stretches from the Nambucca River in the South, the Clarence River in the North, and the Great Dividing Range in the West. The Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre just down the road at Corindi invites visitors to share the stories and culture of the Garby elders. There are many sacred sites and areas of cultural significance in Red Rock and the surrounding area such as fish traps and midden piles.

Red Rock was a holiday destination from the early 1900's, where families would hike in, mostly from Grafton way and camp out, with fishing and swimming the main attractions. The road in followed later and the first subdivision was in the 1950's. Many of the houses in the lower part of Red Rock remain the original fibro and weatherboard cottages (lovingly maintained on the most part) from this era and you can really feel like you are going back in time when strolling or biking the original streets. The second subdivision (where sans souci beach house is located) was later in the 1960's and many of the houses in this area (including sans souci beach house) reflect the later 1960's style of fibro weatherboard. There are a few new houses and renovated cottages in town, however as Red Rock remains on septic tanks and rainwater, development is limited and the character of the town remains much as it has been for at least 40 years. Many of our guests return after many years, one family came back to holiday at Red Rock after a 30 year gap and remarked the town had hardly changed at all!! This is what we love about Red Rock, the sleepy fishing village vibe hasn't changed much, and we can get back to the classic Aussie beach holiday!

More about us

  1. We're a couple with a 1 yo son. We're taking advantage of some flex-time while our son is small and hope to explore more of the world as well as our own backyard during this time :-) As our homes are holiday rentals we are open for offers if our places are available when you want to travel. Drop us a line and we may be able to head your way while you're here, or for vacation homes, to have a few weeks booked in for the future.

  2. Luci is in IT and Belinda works in schools.

  3. For 2017 we are looking for swaps in Australia, so if you'd like a week in Sydney or Red Rock NSW we love Melbourne, Tassie, wine regions, country areas and anywhere on the east coast! For 2018 we are looking for swaps (not necessarily at the same time) for the UK and France. Travel from August-November 2018. We're good for points a the moment thanks.
