About our home

Our lovely spacious low-set modern home is located in Redland Bay, south-east of the city of Brisbane on Moreton Bay. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, reverse cycle ducted air-conditioning and fans, a well-equipped kitchen with a large ice-making fridge, dishwasher, walk-in pantry, dining room and lounge with TV &CD player, comfy sun room (all face out through glass sliding doors onto a large outdoor patio with a BBQ and a private, sub-tropical pool, gazebo and garden area), TV room, laundry with a washing machine and dryer as well as a clothes line outside the laundry. The patio faces North and East - the perfect aspect for Queensland's climate - a warm, sunny haven in Winter and a pleasant, shady retreat with cool easterly breezes in Summer ..... a relaxing, pleasurable environment any time of the year!

The Master bedroom has a King bed and ensuite with a large bath, shower and toilet room. It is a spacious, private, light-filled room facing out onto the gazebo, pool and garden area at the rear of our home. The first guest bedroom has a queen size bed, the second guest bedroom has a double bed and there is a single bed in the third bedroom. There is a bathroom central to all the guest bedrooms with a bath, shower and separate toilet room. There will be wardrobe and drawer space for your use during your stay.

Our home is located walking distance to the ocean. There are lots of walking paths nearby and it is only a 10 min drive to a large shopping centre, cinema, lakeside restaurants, cafes, etc. The Gold Coast is an hour’s drive from our home and we recommend visiting the beautiful Burleigh Heads beach and enjoying lunch by the sea at the Burleigh Heads Surf Lifesaving Club. The Gold Coast hinterland is spectacular with views from the mountains to the sea, rainforest, waterfalls and hiking trails. The Sunshine Coast is a 2 hour drive north of Brisbane. The gorgeous sunny coast beaches of Caloundra and Coolum, amongst many others, are certainly worth the drive! Take a detour to the popular townships of Maleny and Montville enroute to or from the Sunshine Coast; a lovely scenic drive.

The Redlands is a country/coastal area with many places in close proximity to explore. There are many lovely islands just off the Coast, including Coochie Mudlo Island, Stradbroke Island (“Straddie”to the locals) ..... one of the most beautiful places in the world with its breathtaking beaches and views. Cleveland Point and Wellington Point are pretty spots for general recreation, picnics and fishing. Redland Bay is popular with kayakers paddling across to the islands of Karragarra, Macleay, Lamb and Russell, which are in close proximity. Sirromet Winery, Mount Cotton has a lovely aspect and is a short drive from Redland Bay.

The City of Brisbane is accessible by car or bus from Redland Bay or train from Cleveland. A great way to see the City is from the City Cat, which travels up and down the Brisbane River and you can get on and off at any of the ferry terminals to have a look around, go shopping, visit the Southbank parklands precinct with its array of restaurants, galleries and theatres. Pop off the ferry and check out the popular trendy inner city suburbs of New Farm, Teneriffe, Bulimba, Newstead and Hamilton with their lovely parks, restaurants, shops, restaurants and cafes.

We can arrange for pool and garden maintenance during your stay, if necessary.

Our home can easily accommodate three couples or a couple and 3 adult children travelling together. We are family friendly, but we do have a swimming pool. It is fully fenced off from the house, but we are a little hesitant to have young children here without our supervision.

A car exchange is negotiable (our car is only suitable for 4 people).

Non-smokers only, thank you.
